If You Can't Make A Meaningful Contribution To A Debate, Then Don't Post.
I just saw the latest responses page, and I copied it to prove my point. 7 minutes ago Chapstick is a guy! Thats gay. Read more... 8 minutes ago I agree with you. Read more... 10 minutes ago I agree with this debate. Read more... 12 minutes ago Yes they do! Read more... 14 minutes ago I agree with you. Read more... I'm seeing so many spam topics and spam responses. I would like to encourage anyone who is only after points that these responses are likely to be deleted by the administration, so just stop!

Haha! Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

Yes, people who post reasonable responses to debates make the debates more worthwhile. But at the same time, I personally write that "I agree" on some of the debates because I notice that others have already said what I had wanted to say. I think that sometimes, too, people try to tip the scales in favour of their side of the argument, and the easiest way to do so is to type a short sentence.

As for the whole points issue, I don't find that the points are all that important. They don't really do any thing. So, I don't really understand why people feel the need to contribute pointless debates in order to gain points...

Yes. Try to clearly state, if possible, your point.

So true. And everyone should make sure that their post actually makes sense too. A lot of them aren't understandable. There are also a lot of posts in the wrong column, which is very misleading.

I completely agree. Too many meaningful and deep debates are polluted by irrational, shallow responses that are quite frankly idiotic. Then people waste time by telling them how idiotic they are. Then they defend themselves in an idiotic manner. Basically, it's a vicious cycle. There should be a separate function, designed like the shout box, but more specific to having arguments with each other.

I found this posted on one of my debates and on numerous other ones as well....
It's a piece of cake to bake a pretty cake!
If the way is hazy,
You gotta do the cooking by the book!
You know you can't be lazy!
Never use a messy recipe!
The cake will end up crazy!
If you do the cooking by the book,
Then you'll have a cake!
..is this guy for real???

People took time out to bring something intelligent to the table and we get retard rap as a response...can we do anything about it???

As for people who Google stuff, i'm cool with that, at least it makes sense

There are a couple people here who just post stupid nonsense on various debates, then it looks like they do random Google searches and post debates on things they find. It's done to up their post count and draw attention to themselves, not to actually put forward well-reasoned, intelligent arguments.

I've made the same observation before.

I totally agree, frankly, these people don't understand the concept of debating. Fine agree, but people should at least take the time to say why they agree.

The points thing on this site is it's downfall.

It's good to make a good debate with evidence for support, but I don't mind the people who put short sentences. For one, another person probably already made the point that they would make and felt no reason to repeat it, and two, if everybody's response was filled with support then I wouldn't read half of them. It would take too long. As for the people who put random stupid things...well...I can't exactly deny anything.

If you don't like meeting opinions you don't like, stop reading. Unless FAA prevents it, no amount of your whining will force people to obey you.

Meeting opinions you don't like is different from meeting something that is a complete waste of everyone's time.
