Yes, Mary Jane doesn't cause as many problems as some legal things (like alcohol) cause. |

I smoke and drive all the time. I'm a safer driver when I'm high because I focus and pay more
attention to my speed and all that. Marijuana is harmless, especially compared to other drugs and
alcohol. I'm all for alcohol being legal, I just think its ridiculous that it is legal and MJ is
illegal. If anything it should be the other way around.... |

Yep; just the sheer amount of people who wouldn't be deemed criminals (thus less pressure on the
cop/prison system), plus tax revenues would provide a windfall for local and federal government
entities |

What is it about alcohol that people think it is ok? What about all the problems it causes. Ever see
someone stoned get in a wreck or kill someone from it? Not likely |

The point that needs to be made here is that marijuana doesn't need to be "legalized" , it merely
needs to be decriminalized. Because by "legalizing" something the government would be, in essence,
condoning its use. By making something like alcohol illegal as in the prohibition of the 20's and
early 30's didn't mean that people stopped using it, they just found less obvious ways of indulging
in its use. Not only did people use it illegally, crime rose because of it. That's why the "war on
drugs" will never be won. Ever. Why stop there? If something is even remotely bad for you or those
around you it should be illegal, like driving a car, eating fast food, and i hear somewhere you can
drown in a teaspoon of water so bathing is out of the question. Silly, right? By arbitrarily telling
someone they cant do something because you know better than they whats best for them, you strip them
of personal choice to make adult decisions, informed or not. We can never learn to get up if we
never fall down. |
