I agree--the next US president should either be Hillary Clinton or John McCain. I would personally
much prefer Clinton, since she would be far less likely to alienate other countries and would also
stand a better chance of improving American relations with Europe and the rest of the world, after
eight years of disastrous Republican foreign policy.
Obama quite simply has not yet reached the level of political maturity needed to serve as president.
His belief that the US president should just sit down and chat with the leaders of countries like
Iran and North Korea is remarkably naive. George Bush also arrived at the White House as a relative
neophyte, when it came to foreign affairs and we know where that led the US.
Both McCain and Clinton are shrewd, skilled politicians. Obama probably makes for a good senator and
he beats both of them hands down when it comes to his oratorical skills. But at age 46, Obama is
relatively young and can afford to wait eight years, build his political CV and run again as a true
political veteran. |

Yes, John McCain has our best interests. Democrats have a bad way of running things and he knows
that! |

You've framed it incorrectly: If the Dems chose Hillary, then McCain should win. After eight years
we don't need another super divisive candidate. And Hillary would be a one-way ticket back to the
1990s (economically sound, but increasingly politically divided). |
