We are not commanded to go to church; however, we should not reject the assembling of ourselves in fellowship. If those who are assembling themselves together, in one accord, come out of the experience unhappy, unsatisfied, and depressed, then something is terribly wrong. Perhaps there are matters of the heart that must be dealt with.

Glad you enjoyed your time at church.

If church is fulfilling for you then by all means go! This is turning into people thinking it as some kind of command....those feeling are personal issues....has nothing to do with what the orginal statement (and that is all it was) meant.

I worshiped God for most of my life. I have been to church, I felt it should have collapsed and buried the people in it. I haven't been back. Except for weddings and funerals.
If God needs his ego stroked every Sunday morning, then the religious are the men to do it.

I went to Church this afternoon to the harvest service. We sang hims and praised the Lord it filled me up, and we left the church and it was beautiful...:-) really warm for the time of day at this time of the year too. Pure joy....;-)

Well I don't work on Sundays so that's the day I sleep in. Then I catch up with friends, watch a movie, do some shopping, etc.

one does not have to attend church to love God. but it is nice to go when one can....have the opportunity to do so. I always helps me.

Believe it or not I used to consider myself a Christian and attended Church and even when to this teen religious group. And people who want to do this then fine but no one should have to do anything, that includes going to Church. Now I wouldn't even entertain the thought of going to Church or cracking the bible. If people want to go to Church then fine just leave the atheist out of it and let people decide what they want to do.

The church and I had a long talk and agreed to part as friends. I still bring my home made chocolate Rum Chiffon pie on Easter and sometimes weddings.

First and FOREMOST, I DO believe in God. I DO NOT believe that I must attend church....on a ritual/rigorous basis in order to claim my entrance into his kingdom. Our bodies are our temple, which indicates to me that going to church is merely a choice...not a requirement. Also, nearly everytime I have been in a church, ANY RELIGION, I have been subject to the likes of people whom are there for show, for notariaty, or simply just to uphold an image in their community, rather than the meaning of worshiping the lord....and all the while, out partying, drinking, cheating, and all those other "ungodly" things. Sorry, but I believe that church has become more of a runway for people trying to portray themselves as something they are NOT, rather than a place to ask for forgiveness of their sins, for acceptance in God's eyes, and/or for a place in heaven. That is why I do NOT attend church, nor do I find pleasure in entertaining the thought.

I'm against the stupid people who have replied to this topic as if it was saying you should go to church for any reason other than the writer thought it was awesome and good with a smiley face.

It would be like saying everyone should go to IHOP because I went this morning and it was awesome and good.

You people are the biggest freaking babies I have ever seen. LMAO
