But they're NOT adults. If you're going to punish them as adults then you should give them all the
same privileges too. You should let 14-year-old vote, drink, and buy guns, because after all,
they're responsible enough to know what they're doing.
Its ridiculous to punish people as something you won't accept them as. |

At one time I was for this, but not anymore. Children know what they are doing, however, the
consequences of their decisions are not "real" to them. They have no true idea. Think about it.
14 years in this life is not long at all. There is plenty of time left to rehabilitate this person.
However, if the child is tried as an adult and incarcerated as an adult, then it is too late. It
has happened way too many times for me to see it any other way. |

If fourteen year olds were considered mature enough to be imprisoned for violent crimes then surely
would they not also be mature enough to vote? |
