For my high school senior project, i did some research on animal testing!
No animal deserves to go through that pain, agony, torture and death just for us to get our everyday
products!
And i also think that EVERYONE should do some research themselves before even saying animal testing
is a great idea. Innocent animals get hurt in those science labs. And the worse part about it is
that some products will actually say "not tested on animals" when in reality they have been tested
on them.. Do some research and u will know the "behind closed doors" little secrets |

For real! They should test on death row inmates not animals. Animals aren't as close to our DNA as
death row inmates!

I think it is wrong in any case to try something out on someone or something that does not agree to
it. Our own government has tested many chemicals on our own citizens (project mkultra) without
their permission which I see as worse than animal testing but think the idea of doing something that
could have adverse effects on something without permission is wrong. If it cannot give permission
it is even worse. |

Vivisection is one of the greatest evils in our life. This is not at all a pleasant thing to accept
where animals are increasingly being involved to experiments. No one has the right to make the poor
creatures and inflicts used in the field of scientific experiments. Nowadays the lives of those
innocent animals are cunningly hunted for the beauty and fashion world. Is it a normal human
being’s sensitivity? Modern man is becoming day by day a more selfish that they do not care for
those who are not able to make people understand how much pain they are getting. Without having any
ability to make a rebel against the strongest human race, these entire animal planet is all set to
be terminated in closer future. Now the rest of the thing is on the hand of so called intellectual
and sensible human society. |

Yes, i have spent months researching Animal testing. There are flaws to it and lots of variables to
consider...I believe vivisection is sick, inhumane and wrong. |

Animals should not be used for testings they have feelings and there just like humans except they
can't talk |

I agree that vivisection is an evil and an unnecessary one. Many of my family work in the sciences
and campaign for alternatives to animal experiments.
We have no right at all to take these poor creatures and inflict terrible pain, distress and
suffering upon them in what ever name we choose to call it.
I know many people will disagree with me but no-one has ever persuaded me to re-think my ideas, my
husband was a research scientist and agreed with me.
There are plenty of alternatives and many tests are carried out again and again, despite the fact
they have been tried and tested for many years.
No-one needs to buy products tested on animals and there's no excuse for make up and fashion
purposes.
BUAV actively campaign for alternatives and they back the Co-op's own ranges which are cruelty free.
Next time you buy make up, kitchen products or other items please take time to find out if they are
cruelty free and save some poor laboratory animal from a life of hell. There are plenty of websites
which can give a list of cruelty organisations, try PETA. |

If our ancestors had not lived in harmony with animals, life would not be as we know it. Many would
not even be here. That does include animal experiments. Humans have harvested honey herded and cared
for cattle horses, all sorts of animals. And sheep are the most important of them all.
Humans have the right to do this because they can.
Some people believe that one day the Lamb will rest with the lion. People can fantasize if they
want. |

Personally if I have a child and they need a prescription or something of the medical sort I want to
know that it will work and not have deadly side effects. If this means that the product was tested
on animals then that is saving a child and no one can argue with a child's life being saved.
Personal hygiene products are also tested on animals and personally I think that that is great
because without them some people would really have a hard time functioning in society. Deodorant
boost personal image and some does makeup. If makeup means that someone out there feels better about
themselves then really is one animal that has been bread for that purpose really a bad thing? I feel
not. If and when I have a teenage daughter and she wants to wear makeup I will not tell her no. I
will tell her to make a smart decision about her choices and if this means that an animal needs to
be used as a scientific experiment and not my daughter then so have it. I would rather have a lab
rat or something of the sort be tested on then another human being. If you would rather a human be
tested on then an animal you really need to step back and take a look at your priorities. |

We are human beings. We are given the dominance over all other creatures. We are created in the
image of God, something not shared by the remainder of the collective whole of the living things
upon this earth. We should be good stewards of that which we have been given, but the destruction of
HUMAN life is the evil and not that of animals.
By the way, i bet you the o so intelligent apes and dolphins are not discussing this right now. |

OK, which would you rather, a rat or pig dying or a human volunteer, and OK, the human volunteered,
it was against the animals rights- rights who sets these rights, they r most certainly not human
rights, th fact is a job has to be done, nd i bet most of you on the other side still buy animal
tested products, you are not going to stop just because of animals- don't get me wrong i love
animals, i probably have more pets on av. Than most people, and i would never use them to test
cometics, but most of the victims are bred to do this, jut ask yourself next time you buy cometics
or need drugs, where did these come from, and even if they are from animal testing sources, will
you still buy them?? The answer probably |

All right, animal experiments may be cruel but, there are things that are much worse in society.
Think of all the genocide in Africa and other places There is also nations using capital punishment
for horrible reasons. The above is really the greatest evil of our time. |

No, it is bad, but our greatest crime? I think not. |

Animal experimentation is horrible but its going way too far to say that its one of the greatest
evils of our time. Cool down a little |

While I agree that animals should not used in experiments for trivial purposes, such as creating
beauty and fashion products, it's right that they should be available to scientists involved in
serious medical research. Ultimately, there comes a point at which a potentially beneficial new drug
has to be tested. Is it better that it be tested on a human subject?
In future it might be possible to bypass the problem entirely through cloning and genetic
engineering. Human clones could be created with their higher brain functions disabled so that they
were basically vegetables. Their pain and sensory apparatus could be shut down. That way, they would
be essentially plant-like human bodies which could be used for testing new drugs without them
experiencing any pain or discomfort. |

First of all, the header here is NOT a statement of what you believe concerning the subject (I
mention that only because you have commented to several people - myself not included - that they
didn't post a debatable subject).
Secondly, beauty and fashion are hardly the only two things that animal testing has been used for.
Many of the prescription drugs used today have been tested on both animals and humans. Hell, a
monkey and dog were sent into space first! If that's not a test, I don't know what is.
Also, IF we need to test a drug or, for that matter, what have you, on something, I would much
rather an animal be used rather than a person for the first test. That's just how I roll. |
