| I Am Against New York Making Hillary Clinton Its Senator. |
| First of all, I'm not saying that I'm against Hillary Clinton. I'm saying that I am Against New York voters making her a senator when she is not FROM New York. She moved there for a short while, then ran for the senate. Why not pick a New Yorker and let her run where she's from, where ever that might be? And yes, this may be a little late to bring this up, but I didn't find this site until recently, and it's been bottled up inside me for so long... |

It is not that I am opposing Hillary Clinton in the upcoming vote, but I am just mentioning my view
that I don’t want an outsider of New York to be the senator of New York. Hillary Clinton is not at
all from New York and thus she should not be privileged to seat in the sit of senator of this city.
There may be some other options too. We should vote for a person who lives in the city and thus know
its demands very well. Being an outsider, knowing the city fully is next to impossible or Hillary
Clinton. Therefore people should rethink their opinion before going to vote for Hillary Clinton. She
came here just for her promotion in the upcoming vote and then ran for the senate. This would not be
justified if we choose her as the senator of New York. |

So then from what most of you are saying the only TRUE NY NATIVES to run for Senate would be the
Native Americans as the rest of us regardless how long our families have been here in America are
immigrants. She might not be from NY but she has done a lot for NY. |

I don't particularly care for Hilary, but NY should have the freedom to vote in whomever they wish.
I might question their wisdom, but in a fair election we have to live with what the majority wants. |

I don't know whether or not to answer this as I'm neither American nor from New York .
On the broader issue of who should represent whom, surely it's more about the most able person for
the job.
Many politicians represent areas that they are not originally from and do a very good job of it.
It's possible to represent without being born somewhere.
There may not be native born people of the right calibre for the job. Not everyone who is born there
is interested either.
I can see the point being made but I can't agree that an outsider, particularly one of her abilities
couldn't do the job equally as well as anyone else.
Once a politician is elected to represent their constituents they take the job to heart and make the
effort to learn about them and more often than not do a very good job. |

I don't agree, I think Hillary is a great person for the job. |

I don't agree. One of the most distinguishing features of America is the internal mobility of people
within the country, and surely this is truer of New York than almost anywhere else. Many people
living in New York are not native New Yorkers. The city was built on waves of immigration.
The fact is that many senators represent areas where they were not born. Obama was born in Honolulu.
McCain was born in Panama. Ultimately, if people want a local candidate, they can express that
preference at the ballot box. It seems that many Americans don't care about such things, though. |

I agree with fngrbng420. I am not against Hillary being a senator (or even president), but I do not
think that she should be allowed to run for Senator for a state that she is not from. Just as the US
president needs to be a native born citizen of the US before running for president, the US senators
should be native born citizens for the state that they represent. Senators who are native to their
state will more than likely know more about their state than someone who just moved into the state.
Hillary would probably do a great job as Senator for any state, but I definitely think that a
senator should only be allowed to be a senator for the state in which they were born. |
