Killing animals like that is cruel especially for sport!!! |

If you knew the horrors animals go through that are grown to be slaughtered, you would find hunting
and fishing to be a merciful way to get food.
Hunting not for eating though is pointless to me. It is done to find out if the animal is smarter
than a fifth grader, the intelligence of someone who hunts just to kill. |

Is it hunting if the animal is reared to be killed? He giveth and he taketh. |

Obviously you haven't caught a fish or shot a rabbit in a long while? |

Most hunters are avid conservationists. Do you realize how many deer would suffer and die of
starvation if they were not hunted? In the area that I live in, they are totally overpopulated.
They have NO natural predators left and hunters do not only kill them for fun, but also for food.
Yes, many people do eat venison. I personally agree that some forms or hunting might be wrong.
Endangered species should not be hunted. Hunting something for only the sake of a kill is a bit of
an issue to me, but I realize that, for some it is a part of their life. As long as it is done
legally and with the skill necessary to kill an animal with the least amount of pain possible, I do
not think there is a problem with it. If these animals, the ones it is legal to hunt, were not
hunted, overpopulation would cause needless suffering. I would much rather a bullet in the head or
chest than to go all winter with little to no food before dying a terribly drawn out and painful
death. People who oppose hunting should really speak to a few hunters about the environment and how
they feel about animals before judging them. I'm sure some are uncaring...that would be natural
because not all people feel the exact way, but most hunters that I have ever come across do care
about animals and do care that they do not die of more drawn out and painful deaths. I have known
hunters who practice at a range all of the time so that their shots will be as accurate as possible
to minimize suffering. I do not think that one could say that they are cruel. I personally could
not kill an animal unless my life or someone else's life depended upon my ability to do it, but I
don't like to see hunters described as cruel. To me, that only tells me that the person saying it
is ignorant and does not know what they are talking about, but simply want to put someone down
because they find their sport to be distasteful. |
