Humans are dispensable. Much of our civilization's triumph and success is based on the sacrifice of
human life.
Unfortunately we can afford it. |

I must disagree. Actually, birthrates are going way down in many areas, particularly the
westernized lands, at such low rates that population growth is in the minus column. Second, what
has made cultures thrive is to define what it means to be a human most accurately. In cultures,
where a human is considered just slightly different than a cow (of course in India cows are of
greater value), the human situation has historically been quite depraved. How one defines what you
and me are, intrinsically, makes all the difference in the world as to the important things in life
such as freedoms, liberties, human rights, independence, etc. Etc. If we define ourselves to be the
same as livestock and our culture agrees, then we will be treated and treat each other as such. |
