Humans Are Born With A Tendency To Do Bad Things
Original sin is part of the genetic makeup of our offspring. That is why you never hear a parent saying of his two year old: "I wish Johnny would be more selfish, just once!" or "I wish Johnny would just take the big piece of cake one time, instead of always giving the big piece away!" etc. Etc.

I think we are born innocent but we all corrupt ourselves. The world doesn't corrupt us....we corrupted the world.

We all have defects of character and they can result in impulses which can harm others, and also ourselves. For some it is a daily battle to deal with our impulses, some are more successful than others. Typically they are based in selfish wants.

However we also have the capacity to rise above it. It is then that we are working toward our potential.

People are naturally selfish. They are not usually wicked per se, just endlessly selfish and grasping. They are like what Freud called the id - the infinitely egotistical part of the psyche which only wants its wants to be satisfied.

As they grow up and imbibe cultural norms, a framework of basic civility is constructed upon children's' naturally selfish nature.

Yes we were born with a tendency to do bad things, but I can’t say this is unlikely, for what fun would it be if we were all “goodie-goods“? I have yet to hear off a person to confess to be pure from sin.

We are not born with the impulse to do bad things; we are born with weaknesses that lure us to do the bad things. We don't WANT to sin, but it's inevitable because we are weak.

Humans are born to parents who tell them what bad things are... Then those kids test their boundaries by doing those bad things... Humans have a tendency to do what they want and often overreact resulting in doing things they don't mean to do and essentially not understanding what it is they truly want...
Humans have a tendency to simplify that which they don't understand and in turn let themselves be taken advantage of by those who know what truly lies there...
Humans have a tendency to stand up for themselves...
Humans have a tendency to stylize their opinions to appear original and feel unique...
Humans have a tendency to be human...
But your right it is hard to overcome our innate tendencies... That doesn't make them bad though
