If you put it that way then i guess so though the old lady you were talking about probably had some
mental disease.....and people always say to me two wrongs don't make a right, but it so does cause
then your like...even... |

In this case yes because she had no reason to bite you. |

Once an old lady said, "Oh, there you are, David," and kissed me on the cheek, mistaking me for some
momma's boy. Is hitting her justified? Because I feel bad about jabbing her nerve cluster. |

What a peculiar experience. Are you sure that old lady wasn't a flesh eating zombie trying to
spread her disease?
OK seriously, the social expectation to refrain from hitting someone due to them being weaker
(whether it be the elderly, a child, a handicapped person, a woman, etc.) is trumped when your use
of force is necessary for self protection. It's that simple. And of course the degree of force you
use should be the minimal amount necessary to achieve your self protection (meaning kicking her away
so she would stop is fine but chasing after her and kicking her again and again would not be -
unless she truly were a flesh eating zombie in which case smashing her head would be justified). |

Anyone, whether they be a man, woman, or elderly person, who deliberately harms someone they don’t
know for whatever reason and expects not to get hurt back is an idiot. I’m a fairly clam person.
But let’s say a random woman I don’t know (or at least not very well) comes up to me and slaps
me in the face for reasons she hasn’t explained yet. That female dog better be prepared to cover
up the black eye she’s about to get with some sunglasses or something. The likelihood of me
hitting a woman or elderly person I’m familiar with is low. But a random person I don’t know?
The chances rise then. |

If you need to get someone away fast, and kicking her is the only way to protect yourself or
stop her from biting, then yes. I believe you did the logical thing. But punch for punch is
not OK. You could severely damage someone old and frail. Just curious--what did this
apparently senile person do after you kicked her shoulder? |
