Hitler Should Be Made A Saint
The Catholic church had been nurturing anti-semitic hatred for centuries with phrases such as "perfidious Jew" included in the Catholic liturgy and not removed until the 1960s. Hitler was a good Catholic boy. All he did was come along and fulfill their great vision. They should reward him by making him a Saint.

Anyone who fulfills the qualities the Catholics look for should be made a saint. Since I'm a Lutheran I'm a little rusty on my canonization law, but don't you still have to perform a miracle and live a life in service to others? If you have evidence Hitler fulfilled those expectations than yea canonize him.

I'm pretty sure Hitler did not do any miracles, unless you count him blowing his brains out and saving us the trouble.

OK...a little extreme but I get the point.

I'm not gonna get ugly here.

I just wish people would do some secular research of history starting 300ad through 1600ad. That's 1300 years. Study Jewish time lines for this period. Any search engine will do. Study what is known today as Spain.

The roman catholic church (this does not mean catholics - I'm talking about THE organization that proclaims itself THE CHURCH) certainly rivals ANY of the top ten worst attacks on humanity ever committed.

You were lucky if you were killed defending yourself. Many were tortured in ways that are top 10 material and throw burning alive on top for good measure.

This included Islams, Jews, believers in Jesus who did not accept THE CHURCH as blameless and anyone else who did not fully live by THE CHURCH guidelines.

It's preposterous. Would somebody please spend a couple hours studying something other than a CHURCH timeline?

Hitler bamboozled his people into the Reich movement. What they did was unthinkably horrible. Give me a break.

For anyone who committed such acts to be honored would be an outrage. The mere thought is preposterous. I hope this debate was some type of sick joke otherwise you are a very disturbed person.

We aren't twisted at all, thank you very much. And no, we do not worship Mary so don't bother.

Just because there have been past disagreements between Catholics and Jews, it doesn't mean that Catholics these days hate Jews. I am Catholic, and have a friend who is a Jew, and do I go crying home to my mum because my friend is a Jew, of course not; we are a colourful world full of uniqueness which should be embraced. And I'm sure the Catholic church doesn't condone killing to get their way.

I am a Catholic and think that what Hitler did was horrendous. I have no problem with Jews because Jesus himself was a Jew and if it's okay for him to be a Jew i think others can be Jews as well. Whoever made this should be shot because this is an outrage.

Whoever made the debate should be shot? Well, it sounds like both you and Hitler really imbibed the spirit of the Inquisition pretty well. And, though it may seem surprising, until the 20th century it wasn't generally accepted that Jesus was a Jew.

5th Commandment: You shall not murder.
Tell me, if until the '60s the Church promoted antisemitism, why is my father (born in the 30's) not a rabid anti-Semite? Oops, I shouldn't have asked that question.
