Your right you shouldn't fear hell because it doesn't exist. You give me proof that it's there and
then I will get scared |

Of course it's not, because it doesn't exist. |

I'm not scared of going to hell. It can't be that bad. If it's really eternal, you'd have to get
used to it eventually. |

Read Dante and Virgil's The Divine Comedy, Hell kinda sounds like a cool place, as long as your not
the people getting killed. O and hell don't exist in real life, i am simply meaning the book version |

Why fear something that doesn't exist? |
| |
|

Considering that hell is a pre medieval idea/way of thinking, I agree that hell should not be
feared. |
| |
|
| |
|

I agree. I believe that Hell is less a place full of fire and brimstone, but a bleak wasteland, or
even a state of mind, but if you are willing to accept the consequences for what you've done in
life, then there is nothing to fear. |

Hell is not something feared by true Christians....it is something that should be feared if you are
not a christian. Christians shouldn't fear it because they wont be going there. |

Hell is something to be feared and someday you will figure that out |

Hell is something to be feared! |

It would be a pretty sick trap if God created free will and and then punished the people for all
eternity for using it. I would much rather go to hell, following my morals then go to heaven with
the guilt that I'm only in their because I worshipped someone simply out of fear of going to hell. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Its a word used to for scare tactics that's it. You can make your own hell on earth if you choose
too. But I don't believe in any of that. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Why would I fear an imaginary place? There is no reason to believe in hell or an afterlife at all.
You're born, you live, you die, you become worm food. Deal with it. |

Fear is no motivator for considered actions in life. Hell as a concept to bash people with is
unhelpful and false. It also undermines a pretty decent example of being in the example of Jesus
Christ. I don't recall him condemning people to hell for crucifying him. Anybody who claims they are
Christian yet bashes people with this nonsense is undermining a righteous example, a way in which
you could conceivably get to heaven. |

The aspect of “Hell” only crosses my mind in debate topics such as this. Other than that, I
don’t think about it at all. I’ll have to agree with Andromeda concerning the “evidence for
Hell” idea though. From my perspective, or from my experience, the whole concept of the “You
should fear death because you’re going to Hell unless you accept Jesus Christ as your savior”
statement is nothing but a ludicrous attempt at converting people to Christianity. If it were not
for this “trump card”, some "Christians" wouldn’t have any reason to offer you as to why they
wanted you to become apart of their religion. They will sometimes offer you a vast amount of
“reasons” why you should convert your beliefs to Christianity, such as “Jesus died for your
sins and you should repay the debt”, “It will bring peace to your life and you will be forever
rewarded for your time spent worshipping God”, or “It will bring you closer to God”. Now, of
the “reasons” I’ve mentioned, all of them have one thing in common. They’re usually all
linked to one single goal. Accept Jesus as your savior to avoid going to “Hell” and suffering
for eternity in painful agony. There is no “reason” or justification, other than the “fear of
Hell” concept, that those kinds of Christians can give you in order to convince you to join their
religion. By all means, someone please correct me if I’m wrong. |

I don't fear it because I know it doesn't exist. It's like fearing the tooth fairy. |

It is. But i would fear God more. He is the one that has the power to destroy both body and
soul.
And im not afraid of going to hell at all. I know i have an advocate before God to keep me from
going there. His name is Jesus. |

Of course Hell is an undesirable place! As it is historically and allegorically a place of Eternal
torment.
(That which is bad is also undesirable). |

This thread is kinda funny. I think people will be shocked when they die.
So lets put away these ignorant little boy theories, like God just accepts everyone, and no one goes
to hell. I ask you what would be the point of Jesus's sacrifice if that were so.
And the atheists, your simple yet so pathetic explanation that there is nothing. You make me
laugh.
Nothing is simple
there is a hell
and unfortunately people are going to go in it. |

The Abyss is something all religions have in common, it is something that most people fear, I have
never done any thing so bad as to earn a one way ticked down, and i know that any thing evil i do
will be for the greater good. I do not fear gowing to hell but not reaching the light.( that is not
the same thing!) |

Hell is the thing you must fear the most, its torture forever you can never redeem yourself and get
out off hell. So if the fact of getting tortured doesn't scare you then you need help |

Hell is eternal separation from God. That's the worst thing that could ever happen to someone. |

Ya it should be feared. I mean would you run in to a house that's on fire. So why would you not be
afraid of burning for eternity |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|

Honestly God created hell for the devil and the third of the angels that sided with him. God gave
man a free will because he loves us. So it's not him that sends people to hell he gave us a way out
it's just a matter of accepting it. That one way out is Jesus. "For God so loved the world that he
gave his ONLY begotton son that whosoever believeth in him shall not parish but have everlasting
life" John 3:16
it's like getting a dirtbike for Christmas what r u going to do accept it or deny it? Accept it duh!
But the one gift that should never be denied is the gift of eternal life in heaven. So only if you
haven't accepted that gift hell should be something to be afraid of! |

I think you should be afraid of hell because that is what it says in the bible. Sometimes I wonder
what if I am going to hell? Then I start to be afraid, but other then that I'm not afraid all the
time. |

For people with non religious views the scripture and its content is meaningless therefore there is
nothing to be feared. If you are religious then why should we allow fear to overtake our lives. To
live a life of fear is a life wasted. |

Either you are Muslim or non Muslim. According to both religious beliefs Hell is something
afterlife. It is the more painful place and souls would be punished here. For Muslims it is
Jahunnam. In Quran, the holy book of Muslims it refers to place where unrighteous souls would be
punished. There are many verses in Quran reflecting its existence. For Christian, it’s the final
destiny for those who don’t accept the Christ. |

If you are a Christian, chances are that you will fear hell to a certain extent; after all, few
people look forward to it. Of course, if you are an atheist, you may be broadly indifferent to all
of this. Hell is a central part of Christian theology, but it is important to realize that hell is
also beyond time and place. Rather than trying to imagine it as a land of feverish pits, where red
demons with pitchforks and tails run amok, it is much better to think of hell simply as seperation
from God, while heaven is full communion with Him. I do not think that we should take some of the
frightening imagery used in the Bible and in later works of art literally. The essential point that
all of this is trying to convey is that hell is tantamount to eternal separation from God.
There are, of course, stark differences among Christians when it comes to the closely related issues
of salvation, heaven and hell. Evangelical Protestants believe that by making a one-time commitment
to "accept" Christ, it is possible to know for certain that the believer will enjoy communion with
God after death. Catholic theology, however, teaches than salvation is a life-long process and that
it is impossible to know with any certainty if the believer will be saved. In this context,
salvation involves dying in what is referred to as a "state of grace." Additionally, since it is not
possible to know for certain who will and will not be saved, Catholics are much less likely to
engage in evangelization of non-Christians with the sort of urgency we often see from American
Evangelical groups. |

Everyone in the world should fear hell. It is real and it does exist. It is a place of pure evil,
extreme pain, and endless suffering. If you think life on Earth is bad, you have not seen anything
yet. All of these atheists and other non believers should be really afraid because they are on a one
way road to hell. People should be very afraid. Do you need proof? Read the book titled, "23 minutes
in hell,” if that does not convince you, nothing will. But you should be very afraid of hell. It
is very real and the devil will do anything to get your soul. |

I'm in two minds about the existence of hell. If it does exist though one things for certain, it
should be feared because that's the whole purpose of it. If hell weren't scary then it wouldn't be
