Many people accuse Mills of being a gold-digger. Even the judge in the recent case, who had many
harsh statements to make about Mills, accepted that she was genuinely in love with McCartney. If
their marriage was one inspired by genuine love, she is entitled to half of everything McCartney
owns. That is the nature of marriage. It is a complete partnership between two people. Everything,
including all their worldly goods, is shared equally, unless a special pre-nuptial agreement has
been made.
The alternative interpretation of the Mills/McCartney marriage is that Mills was essentially a
prostitute : Someone providing sexual services in return for a fee. Mills was an attractive woman.
She had worked as a model. Therefore, as a prostitute, she could command the highest fees. We only
need to look at the recent Elliot Spitzer case to see how much a high class prostitute is worth :
$5000 an hour. So if we count up all the hours Mills had to spend with McCartney through all those
years of marriage and multiply by $5000, it clearly comes to far more than £24 million.
Therefore whether their relationship was one based on love or the cold-hearted purveyance of sexual
services, she has been hard done by. She should have got more. |

I don't think so. Money really doesn't matter anyways, and plus, how is she harshly treated that
actually makes sense. She's still on TV, she still does, stuff. People could be completely ignoring
her. Ever think about that? |

No I don't agree. Only £24 million? I think that's enough. In fact if anything it's too much. I
don't really see why she should be entitled to any more than that. She comes across to me as being
greedy. She is now complaining that £24 million is not enough, despite also receiving £35k for her
daughter.
Put it this way, she won't need to have a career for the rest of her life with the amount she's just
bagged.
This divorce has dragged on for months and months and, now that an amount has finally been given,
she is now complaining about her reputation. I don't like to pass judgment, but it does seem as
though she is trying to keep the publicity up, instead of just leaving this messy divorce behind and
moving on.
I read a couple of months back that she said she would leave the country once the divorce had been
settled. She's been awarded her amount, so why is she still here? She should be satisfied with her
amount and stop complaining and move on so that the rest of us don't have to keep reading about it
every single day. |

If receiving 24 million pounds for ranting about her mistreatment and throwing a glass of water over
a lawyer's head is mistreatment, I'd be interested to see what you'd class as good treatment. |

Poor baby. I'm sure McCartney has had to put up with her nonsense for years as well, if she didn't
like it, she shouldn't have married him in the first place. I can't feel too bad for someone who
walks away from a marriage into which she brought no particular money-making ability with millions
of dollars and still whines about it.
Get over yourself. |

Heather Mills and John McCartney have both been rather annoying with their on-going divorce saga.
Mills should be pleased with her £24 million, despite claims that her reputation is now in
"tatters." A little voice inside my head asks: "what reputation?" In my eyes, both of their
remaining reputations rapidly evaporated when they camped out on an ice float to protest the seal
hunt.
Mills clearly used her court appearances as publicity stunts, implicitly arguing that she's not
really after the money, but just wants justice for women in general. Let's give her some credit,
though; she was talented enough to pull it off with a straight face. Maybe she can get a part in a
reality television series, or why not just give her a tea time talk show on ITV. They can do worse. |

What utter rubbish. Shes taken a a lot of money for herself, and is even moaning that she will only
get £35k a year for her daughter - the average UK child costs £8k.
She's being so stuck up. |

Only £24 million. Poor love. She has courted the press to her advantage where possible, she
played the game and lost and now we are supposed to feel sympathy for her? No chance. She could
have taken £20million out of court but was greedy. If she truly wanted what was best for her child
then she would not have taken the route she took. I am fairly sure she knew what she was getting
into when she married Sir Paul. She has presented herself as a fruitloop from day one. I don't
agree that she had an especially promising career as a model and presenter, certainly not one that
would have netted anything near £24 million. If she had conducted herself better she could have
walked away from this with a great deal of good publicity and that career could have taken off. It
might well still do that. All publicity is good publicity they say especially when you have no
particular talent, just look at Paris Hilton.
I feel the same lack of sympathy for her as I do for the Beckhams when they say they wish people
would just leave them alone and then you see their faces on every TV show and magazine.
I hope she gives away £20 million of it to charity to back up her claims of being such a lovely
charitable person. Then I may change my mind.
I am sure McCartney is no saint but she knew what she was doing and should be rubbing her hands with
glee right now. I bet she laughs all the way to the bank. |
