Why not give him a John Lennon award instead?
Dying does not make the last work of someone more relevant or impressive. It just means the person
won't be making any more.
And besides that, who cares about awards shows? They are masturbatorial backslapping, not something
important. Any work that is worthwhile stands on its own merit, it doesn't need an award.
Edit:
You're obviously too young to get the reference.
John Lennon had released an album about a year before he was killed. It was mediocre and outdated
1960s music released in 1980. Then when he gets killed, everybody starts calling for him to get a
Grimy award.
The same goes for Ledger. His final role may be one of his better movies (as if there is such a
thing), but it doesn't deserve canonization.
