In Australia there is an extreme water drought and you are only allowed to water on certain days,
but that does not stop us from eating healthy, i believe there should be healthy food choices in
schools as there is so many obesed children around the world. |

Prevent schoolchildren from eating produce because it takes too much water to wash it? What kind of
cockamamie thinking is this?!
Often, school is the only place where children receive proper nutrition. This is particularly true
in ghetto areas of the U.S. Welfare moms are eager for their kids to get at least one decent meal a
day: In the school cafeteria. Fortunately, our government provides free or reduced-price meals for
these children.
Many children eat almost no produce; I heard of an obese 8-year-old boy who had never eaten an
apple.
Such a lack of dietary fiber leads to various cancer and bowel problems in later life. Guess who
ends up footing the health-care bills for these kids as they age? You and I, through taxes. This
alone is an argument for serving produce in (tax-funded) schools.
Get rid of schools’ healthy food choices, and childhood obesity will worsen. |
