Good Quality 'FOOD' Should Be At The Top Of Everyone's Agenda!
I think the problem is, cr@p food is produced too cheaply, and appeals more to the pocket rather than a healthy diet! If food producers produced more top quality kosher food @ the right price, then they would soon educate the masses.

People SHOULD eat better, but they don't.
They like stuff that tastes good.

So when quality foods are more available that also taste good? That would be the answer.

In a perfect world, yes good quality food should in deed be at the top of everyone's agenda.

Has supply and demand or greed affected the production of quality food products? Are food manufacturers cutting corners and producing "watered down" versions of the same product(s)you may have purchased just a couple years back at excellent quality?

The consumer and the consumer's health should be at the top of the food manufacturer's agenda but it seems as if the "all mighty dollar" has that spot.

Guess you've put the lid on the pot, and rustled up quite a resounding broth of factual enlightenment. Let's hope while it is simmering quite a few influential dignitaries sit around the table for the meal, and take down the recipe!!!

[thanks for the prompt Genkuka, I changed it from note, to recipe, bite sounded a wee bit too lame! I hope it sounds more, (I think you were trying to say appropriate?....;-)]

Americans don't know what quality food is. You have people jumping up for joy for with the new, McDonald's Angus Burger. LOL

Many cannot even conceive of quality unless its between two pieces of bread. I thought Brits were bad when it comes to good food.

Where did you see people jumping up and down about the Angus Burger at McDonalds? On CNN?

I wish I knew what quality food is. I have to settle for Alaskan King Crab legs or Elk medallions.

Over here in England, top chefs have campained for delicious free range, organically reared chickens, which are now nearly twice the price of their mass produced tasteless counterparts. There is a huge difference in quality, however, supermarkets are cashing in on healthy eating. Maybe retrospective governments around the world should have endorsed the efforts of the knowledgeable chefs by slapping an unhealthy tax on cheap mass produced tasteless products to balance the price, this would definitely deter greedy supermarkets from making a profit at the expense of consumers, and promote healthy eating....;-)

Also take into consideration Free range chickens have a far better life, than their 49 day, egg to on your supermarket shelf unhealthy counterparts.

Hey I'm all for free range and/or organic and/or locally produced foods of the highest quality. And yes there is some of that in the US too, in fact the Whole Foods and Harvest supermarket chains are doing banner business. It just hasn't infiltrated the heartland.

And don't tell me there aren't big Brits too, because I work with one.

I'll agree that good food should be a priority for everyone and that bad food is produced cheaply and appeals to the wallet instead of the health.

I guess I'm not exactly disagreeing it’s just a tad odd to me. This big movement and all this talk and special sections in the supermarket, and even special supermarkets all to grow the food the exact same way the small farmer has been growing food around here for 200 hundred years. The exact same way I grew up farming. These kids wearing outfits from my childhood acting like they have invented some new type of farming. It’s a bit surreal.
