the vicar of dibley, 2 pints of lager and the it crowd |

I would agree. Best one I have ever watched at least. The writers never failed to make me laugh.
Always fresh. I hated the Joey show afterwards even though Joey was my favorite character in the
show. No other shows are funny in my opinion. Everybody loves Raymond is too repetitive, Two and a
half men isn't funny at all, yet EVERY SINGLE LINE somehow gets the "audience" to laugh. Seinfeld is
a great show, just don't think I could have ever gotten into it as much as I had F.R.I.E.N.D.S |

There are several good things exist about the sitcom named “Friends”. The best thing is that
this sitcom would never be going to bore you whenever you watch it. It hardly matters that how many
episodes you have been gone through; it still make you find it much interesting and entertaining as
well. This is the story of six friends who are quite different from each other. But it still manages
to tie them into the same string and here lies its success story. You will never find it chaotic or
mindless which occurs for many other sitcoms. This sitcom revolves around a certain plot and has
been maintained to its progress very well. The humorous contents of this sitcom made it more popular
to the general mass in comparison to the other sitcoms. The well planned production made it to
create public hysteria in no time. |

The best thing about the sitcom is that it never bores you. No matter how many times you watch an
episode you will still find it entertaining and funny. The story revolves around six very different
people who have somehow managed to be the best friends. The striking feature of the sitcom is its
humor. Although the six individuals are different they are still funny and amusing. Not even a
single friend can be called boring or monotonous.
Also, the sitcom revolves around a plot and is well written and planned unlike most comedies that
are mindless and chaotic in most part. |

I COMPLETELY agree - Friends is amazing. The first time I watched all ten series all the way
through, I had loads of laughs. The characters and stories are great and I just LOVE the show. |

It is my belief that the television show Friends is the best sitcom of all time (so far!). I
believe this because I have probably watched ever episode (sad, sad man) and I still find them very
entertaining after three or four times.
I think the six character types, the differing types of comedy, the progression of character and
plot over the course of the many series that were filmed. Each of the six characters is very
different. Although they are more character types than three dimensional complex characters.
However, over the course of the many series, it was possible to see some real character progression,
but the whole thing works around the idea of static characters in new and changing scenarios and
situations. The quality of writing is also fantastic.
Ross is smart, intense and sensitive, but also goofy and rubbish with women. Rachel is spoiled,
stylish, fashionable, stunningly pretty, not terribly bright. Phoebe is odd, hippie, sometimes
dopey, but savvy and tough. Chandler is smart, sarcastic and witty, also terrible with women, Joey
on the other hand is wonderful with women, is not terribly bright and much of his humour comes from
that. Monica is practically obsessive-compulsive, neat and tidy, skillful (she’s a chef), she’s
a little bit dorky, highly competitive and not wonderful with men. These differing types of
character type help to set up the great social dynamic of the show and much of the comedy is evoked
by the tensions between these various characteristics
The differing styles of humour appeals to different people. Much of the time, the styles of humour
vary, there is wild slapstick, intelligent humour, potty humour, social humour - comedy of manners,
comedy of social embarrassment and many other types. The characters often create hilarity by mixing
different types of comedy and some characters mix and blend those types of humour. Characters such
as Ross can experience mad slap stick, comedy of social embarrassment and social humour together.
Character progression is minimal in sitcom, but I feel that in Friends some of the characters
developed sufficiently. The quality of the writing is excellent, but that’s because a team of
writers writes each episode rather than a single writer, this creates sharp and witty dialogue that
has been tested against a team of script writers, editors and supervisors. |

No, spaced is the best sitcom ever, friends is one of the worst |

Malcolm in the Middle and Scrubs are the best sitcoms. I'd rather watch Barney than Friends. |
| |
|
| |
|

|
Friends is a bit like the simpsons: They've both been going for a while and after a few series gets
a bit boring. I much prefer the newer ones like Big Bang Theory (which has a new series). |

|

Almost the most mainstream comedy i have ever seen. Showed almost no edge, wit or creativity which
makes great comedies like faulty towers or the peep show |
| |
|

|
|
Not if you have never watched it. |
| |
|

No, because that show friends is so shallow. And airheads. All. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
No, Malcolm in the Middle is the best sit-com ever! |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
NO its NOT that 70's show is the greatest one ever |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Wow.....I almost can't even respond to this....I'll just name a few examples......Three's Company
(way funnier), Seinfeld, Two And A Half Men, All In The Family...... |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
I'm sorry but I think it is awful and wooden. I watched some of 'Sex and the City' with my wife and
found that much more entertaining. |

There is noway that Friends is the best sitcom. They may of had a very large fan following but that
does not make it the best. I believe the best shows are like I love Lucy, Different Strokes, The
Facts of Life and many other ones that are still watched twenty or more years later. One example of
a show on too long is E.R. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |

I at one time liked Friends, but it by far NOT the best sitcom ever. The classics of the late 80s
and early 90s are the best... The ones that were made with wholesome family values such as Full
House, Family Matters, Step By Step... Or that reflected real life such as Roseanne. |

Although I liked the sit com Friends, I do not believe that it was the best sit com ever. It is true
that it was enjoyed by millions of people and ran for many seasons. However, this does not make it
the best sit com ever. That is only a matter of opinion. There are several older sitcoms that I
would prefer to watch over Friends (even the reruns) such as Gilligan’s Island, The Facts of Life,
Silver Spoons, and Different Strokes. I believe the best sitcoms ever are those that people are
still watching 20-30 years later. So, maybe in the future, Friends can join the ranks of the well
loved older sitcoms. |

Coupling is the best ever - Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps |
