Perhaps for certain people (hint hint) |

Absolutely, I asked the same question a year ago. There are far too many people who are posting
debates simply for points, not because they make any sense. |

Am I the only person who see's the irony of you posting 3 debates immediately before this one? |

If it were possible to limit how many debates new users and users who are clearly posting debates
with little substance to bump up their points or to make a point at another's expense, that would be
a wonderful addition to the site. I find it very difficult to complain about the lack of such
moderation though. The site is free and, for the most part, I think that it is rairly easy to
distinguish between a serious debate and one that is just a kid messing around. Worse, sometimes it
is from quick change friend....not naming any names, but take a stab in the dark....and even when
the debate is substantial, the actual debate is skewed by the fact that numerous avatars for only
one user are altering the vote. I personally did not join to win debates. I like to learn, use my
writing skills and view things through other's eyes. It is a good site for that and I do enjoy the
debating....that should be a given.
Although I do totally agree with you, I think that demanding too much from a free site could end up
causing the site to require either a fee or a donation. The useless and childish debaes are
annoying, but at least I'm not paying to sift through them. |

Perhaps new members should have some kind of limit, and once they show they are serious, they get
more power. You're one to talk, anyways. |
