I would imagine its just marketing ideas... See which name polls better there are probably certain
differences planned out or scheduled, but even the idea of splitting the "masses" that are ourselves
probably isn't so terrible... They should try to have the best debaters oppose each other... YOU
HEAR THAT WE KNOW YOUR GAME!! {} |

That's totally cool !! It's like hearing a musician that inspires you, you take that influence and
sing your own song..
That's how the Internet works.. Just like any other creative industry..
I just checked and both sites are at least registered with mindcom.co.uk .. So it's either the same
company or someone who used to work with blurtit broke off and started this..
Definitely in the same area of Norwich though.. |

I don't think someone would steal someone else's tagline, look, icons, etc. It is obviously a
knockoff of blurtit but it is probably owned by the same people. |

I can't say no. |

... You're right. Maybe owned by the same people? |

Everything looks identical...idiots. |

Yeah, they're owned by the same people? So what? Yeah, they use similar designs, so what? It's not a
knock-off, it's another interesting website that has a different purpose. I don't understand why
that would be a problem. Ebay owns some social median sites, Yahoo owns other websites, so does
Microsoft... My point, SO WHAT!? |

Owned by the same people. Go figure. |

Often two companies hire the same website developer and just like in the case of artists you can
tell in websites if the same developer has developed two distinct websites. Some of the features are
same and moods etc in choice of color and images match. There is a possibility that both these
websites are owned by the same company but why is that a problem?
I think both websites have a different audience and are doing a good job in their place. As long as
the functions are being fulfilled the outlook should not matter. |

I think the general idea for For and Against came from Blurt It. However, they focus on only one
part here on FAA- debating. BI features questions as well.
I should add that FAA also features pie charts instead of the objects BI uses to show number of
posters. The pie charts look much nicer. |

Although the sites may seem similar, they are different. Blurtit main purpose is basically questions
and answers. It is like an information database. Most of the information is factual. Blurt it does
have debate pages as part of its site, but it is nothing like For and Against. For and Against is
exclusively debates. Although, there is factual information, most of the information is peoples own
thoughts and ideas. It is a place where people can express how they feel about a wide array of
topics. So, although the sites appear similar, they are very different. Take the time to look at the
pages and you will see that. The appearance is similar, but the information is quit different. |

Blurt it is not the same sort of site as this one.
Blurt it is a site for general discussion, questions, answers , debate , advice -in fact
anything.
This site is aimed at debate and the format is similar but also completely different in format.
Debate is good and healthy and opens up a world of new ideas and discussion.
Although Blurt it can also do this , it is done in a different way.
Answers on Blurt it tend to be much more specific, whereas debate is open ended, sometimes
philosophical and has a different purpose.
In debate often their are no real or specific conclusions .
It's irrelevant that they may be owned by the same company. Many companies own many sites but that
doesn't mean they have similar content or purpose even if the physical layout seems similar.
I can't see anything ridiculous at all in this.
If many topics are proposed and debated that has to be good. |

The look and feel of the site may be similar to Blurt it. But they are two completely different
sites, with different ideas.
On Blurtit the purpose of the site is to ask a question - the answer to which you don’t know - in
the hope that someone out there in cyberspace can help you out, preferably from first hand
experience. For example, “How do I change the pulley belts on my 1967 Chevy truck?”
Here on forandagainst.com the concept is distinctly dissimilar. Users can post up for debate a
proposition to which, as often as not, there is no right or wrong answer. For example, Spartan’s
recent debate on whether Glasgow is better than Edinburgh. That one will run and run and never reach
a conclusion. |
