Football players are paid a ridiculous amount of money because people pay good money to get good
seats for their favorite teams. It's capitalism at it's finest! The basis of America's economy! |

Well not even soldiers earn what a footballer earns!!!!! They need a wage cap, and a reality check |

Yes they get paid to much why don't teachers get paid that much they spent there time trying to
educate all of us and hardly get paid while footballers get paid for just kicking a ball around a
pitch |

Football and baseball players are paid way too much money. It is entertaining to watch sports but
for them to get paid for something they supposedly love so much is ridiculous. Teachers should be
getting paid more than people who have talent in sports. Our society is backwards in its thinking.
Sports players incomes should be cut more than half of what they are currently making. We could do
so much more with that money than they could ever think of. |

All sports players are paid way too much. |

Yes I have to admit it's ridiculous the amount they get paid, but I'm afraid if you play the most
popular sport in the world that's what happens. I have got to admit sports like Rugby, Boxing and
American Football are much more intense harder sports than Football and are life threatening so they
should at least get as much as Football player maybe more, who knows. |

I agree... But its the same for every professional sports player... |

Very true for not even having a real job just playing a game? |

As much as I love football with a passion, I do agree that footballers get paid too much. Yes, the
likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Ronaldinho and a vast list of others, have huge talent, but when
we hear of them getting paid £100,000 per week and above (even £130,000 has not been unheard of),
this is simply too much.
And yes, especially in comparison to healthcares workers and suchlike, their pay seems even more
astonishingly high and unnecessary. |

And yet policemen and firemen and teachers make next to nothing... What a twisted place.
And golf players! Ugh! They earn the most in sports, and golf requires about 5% physical skill.
(Just had to get that out there). |

There should be a cap on wages |

It's wrong that they get paid so much for what they do.
The whole thing around the sport has got out of all proportion for what the job involves.
I can't stand football now because of it's image which sometimes overshadows what the sport is all
about.
We are fed so much about their lifestyles, personal life , the clothes they wear that it's been made
into a media circus and I can't understand the fixation with making them celebrity figures for doing
so little and a lot of what they do is so trivial compared to people who have 'real jobs, for
example para - medics.
Perhaps they should take a leaf out of the book of the early footballers, they worked hard, often in
low paid jobs, practiced as mucha s they could and were real hero's for their communities.
The history of football is fascinating and it isn't recognisable now to what it once was.
It's argued that the life of a footballer is limited but high earners can invest well for the future
and have related jobs they can go on to.
Not all footballers are paid ridiculous amounts but we don't hear about them because they don't
attract the interest of the media and live relatively ordinary lives . |
