Football, baseball, and especially nascar are a waste of time. The money paid to these players is
sickening. I played football for 2 yrs in high school and gave it up when I realized I could
actually do something with my life worthwhile. To pay someone 50 million to run a ball on a field
is insane. That money could be better spent curing disease, feeding the hungry, providing shelter
for the needy. It breeds cut throat competition and alienates those who may not have the physical
prowess that some display. A majority of those involved with sports would be picking up my garbage
or cleaning the high school toilet if it weren't for sports. I feel ill when I think that society
holds these people in high esteem and discourages those who would use their minds
I could say the same thing about CEO's of major corporations. What's the difference between mental competition and physical competition? Why should one ignore their world renowned talents? You should give up what you love doing because I think you get paid too much.
It's basic supply and demand. People want to see the worlds best and they are so rare we must pay them for their extremely unique abilities. If you don't like sports boycott them.
