There should be more categories than just for or against.
Because I am for going following your heart to a certain degree, but not like that.
I would say follow your head: 70% time.
I would say follow your heart: 30% time.
Because the brain is on top of the body: Therefore, should have dominance of power over your
decisions.
But if you NEVER follow your heart?
You will become A.I. Robot.................. |

The "follow your heart" advice is simply an example of the pointless, feel-good New Age nonsense
that dominates so many afternoon talk shows and self-help literature these days. This idea of
"following" one's heart seems to be based on a very relativistic view of the world and society, in
which everyone can allegedly find their own "happiness" by tapping into their personal creativity,
unhindered by external directives and instructions.
Yet happiness and success in life is based not only on who or what we choose to follow, and our
personal feelings, but also on the people around us and the community in which we live. As such, we
are not really independent of these external forces, and it is pure deception to suggest and one can
simply follow personal intuitions and desires, thus remaining detached from outside factors. Talk
show hosts and authors of inspirational literature would be well advised to encourage people to seek
their own path to fulfillment or happiness, but also remain conscious of how the community in which
they live impacts their lives, so that they are able to make decisions, which also contribute
positively to that society. |

The heart is all too often twisted by those who hold only their own personal self interest at heart,
might I throw the name Hitler into this form. |
