Republicans are scum. Conservative ideology is designed to justify and affirm all the worst aspects
of human nature. |

Clearly generalizing in this manner is foolish. There are good and bad people on all sides.
However, I think it is pretty safe to say that the leading republicans aren't the kindest people in
the world. It doesn't take long listening to Rush or O'Reilly talking about the poor to know what I
mean.
Really though it comes down to simple trust. Do you believe a republican when they say they think
tax cuts for the rich is a fair and reasonable way to help the country overall, or are they lying
through their teeth? I personally think most people fall into the first category, and are simply
unaware of the actual stats. For instance, overall economic growth has occurred under both R's and
D's, but under R's the gap between rich and poor grew, while the opposite has been true for D's.
But you have to think that guys like GW Bush, Rush, O'Reilly, and the other elite republicans know
full well that those tax cuts aren't going to help anyone but them and their rich buddies. |

Not all republicans are mean. This is a simple stereotype |

"Mean spirited" probably can't be said about the general population of Republicans, after all they
get alot of their support from older generations and the religious and even a large swath of the
general population you may not even expect would be Republican.
HOWEVER, I do think "judgmental" and "selfish" are both accurate words because the Republican
platforms and issues almost always encompass intervening in the behaviors of others as well as
holding on to their own money with a death grip and blaming those without their same resources as
being lazy or dumb and thus not deserving. |

Business is Business the democrats aren't very good at it.
The Labor Party thinks all industry and Banks should be nationalized. Conservative values of less
tax and fairness is best.;-) |

Please stop grouping people. I am a fence sitter...I know lefties who want to give away everything
to people and moniter everything I do, I know lefties who disagree. I know righties who think
everyone should believe the same thing..and lefties who think everyone should believe the same
thing. My parents are righties, but not crazy righties. They're republicans mostly because of gun
rights, taxes (like the "death tax") but they also think gay people whould have the same rights as
all people. They vote for both dems and reps...as do I depending on who they are. I tend to go for
the moderate one on either side. I think anyone too far gone to either side is borderline nutso. |

Stop stereotyping people |

Greedy? How so? If you mean by wanting to pay less taxes, I say it is impossible to be 'greedy' for
something you already have. By definition, greed implies wanting something someone else has.
Mean-spirited? No, we face the facts of life and accept that life cannot be always fair. And we
definitely don't think the government can solve life's problems.
Actually though, I'm more of a Libertarian. |

|

We can't really argue with your life experience.
Here's the facts. During my lifetime, the Republicans and Democrats are mostly ruled by politics. In
general, their first action is something they believe needs to be done for good, then the game sets
in and they are ruled by politics.
Democrats are for everything that is wonderful. They care about the poor. They care about senior
citizens. They care about minorities. They care about world peace. They are for the little guy. The
environment. You name it. They are for human rights.
How quaint! Brilliant! Sign me up! How could anyone not be a Democrat?
The Republicans are for business owners. They want the government to be small. They want the poor to
have jobs created by thriving business. They want minorities to have jobs created by thriving
business. They will fight to preserve American business interests. They are for the big guy. The
environment takes second place behind thriving business. They are for securing a moral America.
Boo on Republicans.
But then there is reality. I can't help be a tad bit cynical of a group that is for everything good
while never addressing the harsh realities involved with what they represent.
I can't help but cut some slack for a group that has to attempt to get elected while being for
facing the harsh realities.
It's give and take on the slack. Recently Republicans have made the huge mistake of catering to the
far right. Obviously, a party that begins with leaning far to the right (which is much more
difficult than leaning to the left) cannot afford to lean any further to the right. They leaned so
far over, the boat capsized.
So currently, it's easy to say that the Republican party has the image of the narrow minded church
goer who wants creationism taught in school, evolution outlawed as a science, abortion outlawed, the
Bible recited at all national events, Christianity declared the national religion, homosexuals
expelled to France and all Islamic people expelled to Iraq. Throw in national eavesdropping on all
citizens who don't believe in God.
The Republican party has allowed itself to be portrayed as such. It is not true. Most people in the
Republican party and who go to churches all across America do not fit into the above description.
The Republican party have probably been made well aware of this and may turn the boat over, get back
in and move to the center. If they don't, they will drown in their own ignorance. |

Again with the group generalization. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
I think it is slightly naive to label a group of people as anything; one should have learned long
ago that stereotyping is a superfluous activity. It will obviously never be true that one group of
people is completely comprised of bad or good members. We should all try to widen our view of
people. We all do good and bad. |
