Fast food places are nyc to go to once in a awhile as a treat.
I personally av only bn a places lyk that i think bwt 4 times in my life.
If you took them off the streets there would be harldy nowhere to eat because if ugo into the major
city example my home city Newcastle everywhere u luk thereis burger kings, subways and McDonald's,
if they were gone there would be no where to eat when your out shopping or hanging out in town.
Places like greggs and peters bakery are really just the same as fast food places because they sell
some fatty foods e.g.pies and cakes so if u did take them off the streets there really would be
noone 2 eat and places like that people love to go and plus it may have an effect on shops in the
city because if there is no where to eat when they are shopping they would want to go somewhere
where they can get food and drink. |

We shouldn't take them ALL away, but enough to make it an inconvenience |

|
No they should not take them away because they taste good but I'm not saying go every day but
occasionally is OK |
| |

It shouldn't be taken away, it should be improved. In our fast paced society today, getting food
fast is extremely convenient. We do need many more healthier choices at fast food joints though. |

People should eat what they want! Everyone knows fast food is really bad for you, but if people want
to eat it, they should be allowed to |

Your right. Wanna split this celery stick? |
| |
|

|

They shouldn't be banned but there should be less of them |

I reakon that fast food restraunts should stay for when people just want to get a feed quickly they
can pull into a fast food place |
| |
|

|
OK i'm not a big fast food eater but every time i do eat fast food its because I'm late I'm mean you
are not gonna cook a 4 star breakfast wen you are late for work and over half of the population that
can access fast food will because of that main reason |

They may be bad for the health of the public, but it's their right to operate. |

I know its bad but hay |

You should be taken away for suggesting that. |

People have the right to choose how they live their lives. It is a choice. Right or wrong, we do not
need the food police. |

Hell no fast food rest. Rock! |

|

McDonald's didn't come in to this country guns a blazing'. They sell a product that people are
willing to buy and as long as the people are willing to buy, McDonald's should be allowed to
operate. |

No way you should never take them away millions of people everywhere would loose their jobs and they
are not all fatting like subway. It is healthy that is the most obsurd thing i have ever heard. |

First of all there would be a loss of plenty of jobs in America as well as a loss of lots of money.
But lets get down to my selfish reason why there should be fast food, because when I'm on the go or
when i'm tired and lazy McDonald's comes in handy. Furthermore don't punish me because there are
lots of slobs who don't know the meaning of moderation and exercise |
| |
|

|

Haha NO....if you took them away, America would lose SO many job opportunities. Which might
encourage people to actually finish high school and get a proper education...but that's a whole
different story. But i love fast food restaurants...its not the restaurants fault that American
doesn't know how to exercise. So for our faults that doesn't need to happen. Let's say they did do
that, people can still go to the grocery store and buy junk food or make the food unhealthy
themselves. No way to solve Americas obesity. |

The great thing about the US is that we have a choice. We can go to fast food restaurants all the
time and get super fat, or, for a little more money, we can eat healthy and exercise, and not be
fat! Nobody is forcing people to eat at these places. But don't get me wrong, I don't care if
you're fat, I have no problem with that. I just get angry when people say they are fat because they
'didn't know' fast food did this, or they were 'forced' to eat it. As for me, I'll take my double
whopper with cheese, a large fry and a king size coke! |

Fast food Restaurants offer those foods that we can not include in our lunch or dinner. Generally
when we are going to college or returning from somewhere after some work and we get a little hungry
and we feel like having something which should not be as heavy as lunch or dinner, then we go for
those foods. These foods though may not every time provide a very high nutrient value but at times
we feel like having them because some of them are really mouth watering and delicious in taste. Thus
fast food restaurants are partly needed in our life because not every time we feel like having very
healthy food. Though in many countries people tend to become over weight due to having these fast
foods in plenty but they should know how to stop themselves from doing that. |

There isn't any reason to take food away. All living beings need energy. Energy comes from the food
we consume. I am a FIRM believer that it doesn't matter what you choose to eat. If you are going to
loose any weight at all just eat less of it.
Don't include very fatty foods. That has too much fat grams in themselves but imagine a diet of a
veg.,meat, fruit, beverage, dessert in proportion to your daily intake for lunch. Great food
!!!!!!!!!Simple cereal or oatmeal with milk and some juice for breakfast. For dinner Skinned lean
meat ,whatever you like.Steamed veg. (your choice)a Dessert/like ice cream of your choice but just
less. My point is you have many choices as what you are going to eat but if you just eat LESS you
WILL loose weight. |

As someone who is overweight myself, I beg to differ on this topic. I am not speaking for a person
who was thin their whole life and then suddenly put on weight, I AM speaking of someone who has been
a lifelong fatty. There are many reasons for this and NOT ALL cases where a person is overweight is
because of "packing in food"! As far as the fast food restaurant chains in this country-I WILL agree
that statistics show we are the "most overweight" country in the world. I DO see where your coming
from as far as that goes but I am also saying that each case is different. There are thyroid and
metabolic issues which also play into this many times. So I think each case is different for "no 2
snow flakes are alike" to quote Dr. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross. As far as anyone who "chooses" to put
this kind of food in their mouths, that's up to the individual. Though IT IS a health risk (ie-heart
disease, etc.) |

I don't agree especially since so many are coming out with healthy options on the menu. People have
the right to eat what they choose, maybe some people are happy being overweight! Besides just taking
away fast food wouldn't completely alleviate the problem... There are horrible things you can buy in
grocery stores, and super markets. |

I don’t agree that taking away the fast food joints would be the solution to the problem of over
weight citizens of US or any other country for that matter. The several choices that we have as
buyers or consumers are a feature of a free market economy and life would not be as enjoyable as it
is today if these choices did not exist.
Instead of burying our head in the sand due to the fear of an imminent storm we need to realize that
it in fact the poor standard of food at these joints that is the cause of threat to health of
individuals. Consumer right groups need to play an active role in ensuring that the standard of food
being sold at the fast food joints is up to the healthy food standards set by the regulatory
authorities.
We as consumers need to realize that fast food is not something we have to eat all the time and only
a balance of nutritional and hygienic food will keep us fit and healthy. |

Although I don't think that they should be taken away as such I think they should be subject to many
more controls.
Fast food is primarily a huge money making phenomena. It needs to be subject to regulations which
ensure that health is a prime consideration.
Most fast food is poorly presented, bland and unhealthy.
If parents were more aware of the potential health risks of this type of food perhaps they would be
more inclined to ensure they limited their children's intake.
I think the mass exploitation of the animals in the food chain is lamentable and animal as well as
human welfare needs to be addressed.
This is a fashion from the US we really don't need to follow and if changes were put into place to
regulated the sort of foods sold, hopefully problems connected to unhealthy eating would start to
correct themselves. |

I do not think that fast food restaurants should be taken away. Although many of them sell unhealthy
foods in unhealthy portions, they should not be taken away.
The fast food business is one of the fastest growing businesses in the USA. They provide jobs for
thousands of people. Many of them also help their employees with education and other aspects of
their lives.
Most fast foods sell and promote unhealthy food, in unhealthy portions. This part of fast food
should be stopped or banned. It is causing many health problems for thousands of Americans. They
should not be allowed to promote larger portions of unhealthy food. They should not be taken away
because of this, but they should have more control or some form of law or policy that prohibits them
from promoting unhealthy options. |

It's true that obesity is a growing problem, and it's probably true that fast food restaurants play
some part in it, I don't agree that banning fast food restaurants is the solution. Ultimately, you
have to respect other people's freedom to make choices about how they want to live their lives. If
they want to engage in high risk activity, such as wolfing down too many Big Macs, that's their
business and nobody Else's.
We permit other people to engage in risk-related activity, for example mountain-climbing. Some
people go mountain climbing then fall off and die or get stranded up there and freeze to death.
Should we ban any voluntary activity that involves risk? |
