Far Too Many Young People Are Being Pushed Into Earning Their Parents' Degrees.
How many people in this world have degrees and don't even uses it, it hangs on their wall and some can't even remember what those words are on it. Mommy and daddy wanted me to have it... Fine, but why, do you even know?

Parents do try to push kids into getting certain degrees and alot of the time, the kids do receive that degree and are not happy with it. If they had gone ahead and chosen the degree they wanted to get, it would not be a problem later on. Parents need to know when it is time to butt out.

What do you say when youngsters are acting wishy washy about choosing a field because in some of these cases this is how parents view it, thus they push there children into a degree.

True but there are just an equal amount of people who don't push themselves.

If the degree your getting isn't the degree you want then you have no backbone. I don't see this occurring in my world. I can't think of a single person I know that was forced into a specific degree.

Oh, gee, these people have parents with money and they are being forced to get university degrees instead of living off their parents' money! They are so hard done to!

If they don't want it, there are plenty of people who are smart but poor and can't get a post secondary education. If people don't want an education, send it to people willing to put it to good use.

It's ridiculous to expect empathy for people who have all the advantages and still want more. I had to work to pay for my education and go no help from anybody, and there are plenty of people worse off than I am.
