Fall Out Boy And My Chemical Romance Are NOT Emo Bands!!!
Everyone keeps saying My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy are emo. I have a quote from Gerard Way saying emo bands are bogus. I would love to know your point of the story.

My Chemical Romance are not a emo band they are a normal rock band.
Falloutboy is definitely not their songs are so upbeat and make you smile.
No they're not. Bands such as Rites Of Springs and Braid were Emo. You compare the 'Emo' scene of
today you'll find a stark contrast. It used to be hard angry riffs and lyrics, today it's whiney
kids complaining how depressed their love life is and how life isn't going how they want it
I like mcr and have all of their cds and i got their dolls for free when they weren't even out yet
(my moms friends son is in the band and she gives me free stuff!) and their dolls have guns and
stuff in the package. Sorry mcr. You rock!
If you listen to some of mcr's lyrics..they are emo...but not so emo that kids are wanting to kill
themselves just by listening to it. I think most of mcr's lyrics give kids something to live
for..and a motto to live by, for example in famous last words : "I am not afraid to keep on living"
there giving people hope.
Last year my chemical romance were blamed for a young teenage girls death...this wasn't at all fair
because some kids say that MCR saved there lives.
As for FOB, there old stuff was emo but there new stuff is very "panic at the disco"
No, emo is not a bad genre of music.
I personally like some of it.

And these two bands, are, in fact, incredibly emo.
Basically Emo bands are those ones who produce a sound which is hardcore punk rock and the bands
belonging to this category are very focused on creating a sound which can explain many variations
independently maintaining the roots of music. Bands like 'Fall Out Boy' is definitely an Emo band
but as far as My Chemical Romance is taken into consideration then I must say that themselves they
refuse to get called as an Emo band. Both these bands are from America and they are formed
contemporarily during the late nineties or early two thousands. 'Fall Out Boy' can also be
categorized as a Pop Rock band because they produce a sound like that also but My Chemical Romance
is not at all an Emo band in any way because their sound does not match with the sound of an Emo
band.
Yes, because Fall Out Boy and punk go hand in hand. Fall Out Boy are pop rock. Compare NoFX and Fall Out Boy and you'll see which is hardcore punk and how to define it. A genre which is open to interpretation is called "indie" not punk.
