| ForandAgainst Is A Lesser Site Because You Cannot Say "f#%^" |
| Listen, no word is any better or worse than another. For some reason, we split language into two groups, culturally acceptable words and culturally unacceptable words. Basically, there is an invisible 'language nazi' out there that determines which words we can say, where and when. Since the words you choose say much about you, you should be allowed to be yourself, especially on a debating site that promotes the free exchange of ideas. And most importantly, FororAgainst shouldn't promote one style of debate over another, even if that "style" is deemed offensive by another. |

I don't get why society thinks certain words are wrong to say. THEY'RE JUST WORDS!
The text filters don't work very well anyway. You can make it look like you're using swear words by
replacing the letters with unicode characters that look like them. Example: ƒūċĸ |

First of all, f#%^ is a very bad word. Secondly, it should not be said to anyone or on the Internet
because it might offend someone, even a person like ME!!! |

It doesn't benefit ones debate, if it was more than just a swear word then you might have people
agreeing. But as it is no. |

I agree with Sly. Using that word will not benefit a person's argument in any way. |

That word is irrelevant to debate. Using that word will not make your argument better or more
persuasive. |

Well i don't want to see you try and not succeeding at being cool by saying the F word.
That's just cruel. |
| |

I think it keeps fools from using words that aren't classy or nice. |

No. Because cussing is spice, and not the meat of the argument;-) |

A debate is supposed to be civilized with each side giving an argument to prove their side. There is
no place for offensive language in a debate. If all you no are words that are deemed to be
offensive, then you need to return back to the first grade in school and strat all over again
learning a proper vocabulary. |

Unfortunately, your "language nazi" has made his decision that some words will be acceptable and
others will not, and sometimes I puzzle over that fact, but I'd rather curb my language and use a
different word (of which thousands exist that you can use instead) than be offensive to someone. |

Then why are you posting here?
Go start your own site. Or better yet, try Usenet, unless you're one of those "Microsoft invented
the Internet!" types. |

Think now why would be make certain words unacceptable? It's because they are mentally powerful
words with much emotion. Alot of people misuse these words for daily use but calling your teacher a
"Beeping Beeep" which doesnt really need the extra emphasis that these words provide. They aren't
bad but they are used to mean VERY EMPHAZIED |

Jesus Christ, it's " ForAndAgainst". AND. AND!
It's in the URL at the top of your page! Are you blind?
And stopping you from swearing is a slight restriction admittedly, but it stops irritating children
who don't read the debate fully raising my blood pressure. |
