I believe that it really depends on what type of extracurricular activities you are referring to. I
would like to see academic extracurricular activities such as clubs, choir, band, and newspaper be
mandatory for graduation. It would be good to require each student to participate in at least one
academic extracurricular activity. However, with sporting extras, I think that those activities
should be left up to the student. Not all students are athletic and some do not like sports. They
should be not forced to play sports if they do not want to. Yes, they have gym class. Above all, I
also believe that students should have very high grades, good attendance, good behavior before they
should be allowed to play any type of sports. |

School is for educating, it is not for keeping kids busy. Certainly extracurricular activities
should be available for those who wish to be involved, but forcing people who don't want to be
involved into them? That's ridiculous. |

Well, everyone might have heard the saying, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, or
likewise, Jill a dull girl."
School should be a place where you enjoy yourself and at the same time learn something, and I'm sure
no one likes to study 24x7. Extracurricular activities should be made compulsory, as they help
students in developing new skills and also act as pretty good stress busters.
However, the student should be free to choose the activity of his or her choice and should not be
forced to take any activity. |

Extracurricular activities help students to develop new interests and skills, expanding their
horizon. However, I disagree with an excessive amount of it when the academic teachers are already
demanding. |

Every student has his or her strength and weakness, has his or her interests and disinterests. In
our school period we engage sometime with our hobbies and interests. These hobbies and interests
have minute distinction and these are defined as extra curricular activity. In his or her hobby
every student is independent, and it gives a scope to spend sometime with his or her likings. In
schools there must be provisions of some classes on extra curricular activity. It would give the
students a scope to show their skills in a different field besides education. If extra curricular
activity classes are made compulsory in the schools it would give the students more interest. Some
students have their better competence in art, painting, writings literary topics, recitation, or in
sports and athletics than formal courses of the classes, extra curricular activity classes encourage
them to continue their practice. |

At least one activity should be. They would help the kid's own future. |

When young kids enter school they are unaware of their strengths and are still developing interest
in various things. If extra curricular activities would not be compulsory at school many kids will
never get a chance to try them out.
Some kids think that sports or maybe debating is something they can not do but when they try these
things out they realize their own potential. Making these activities mandatory at school enables
kids to realize their own strengths and that is what schools are for. |

Extracurricular activities are incredibly helpful in expanding a young individual's horizons. One
cannot reasonably expect to be admitted to university without them. Any and all activities can
supply an individual with invaluable skills for later in life. |
