When I was born in America I 'stole' a piece of paper that is known as my birth certificate. I have
stolen a post it note too... (don't tell anyone, OK??)
Some might argue that America itself was stolen from the Native Americans, and therefore my very
citizenship is stolen property. Well, the Native Americans stole it from animals.
I like your argument except for the part about native Americans stealing the land from the animals. They did not steal the land from the animals, they shared it with the animals. Native Americans could not comprehend the idea of "Owning" land.
Stealing is something people do even when they don't know about it. There was a time when my son was
younger and I checked out and got out to the car and realized that there was something I hadn't paid
for. Of course, I didn't go back in and say "hey, I just walked out without paying for this",
especially with a baby. I don't believe this is as bad as intentionally stealing something or
planning to take things from others.
I agree that it's not as bad. But I have walked all the way back to the store after my 3-year-old took a bottle of perfume without my noticing. (It's the honesty that counts.)
Clearly there are some people who haven't stolen anything in their lives...at least thus far.
Hodver is at least one person who maintains that she has never taken anything that doesn't belong to
her. I haven't stolen from stores or anything, but I'm sure I've taken a pen home from work and I
love to steal my sister's clothes and/or makeup if there is something there that I really want. It
goes both ways with us though. She helps herself to some of my things when she finds something she
likes. We are especially prone to this if the item is something that the other one doesn't use or
wear regularly. Does that even qualify as stealing? Lol
You are stating a unprovable theory. Your argument is flawed because you are assuming a lot you
cannot prove that someone has never stolen anything. If i lock a child in their room from when their
born to when they die then obviously they haven't stolen anything. Except maybe time and you cant
hold time.
