Every Pope Is Fallible
It is against the Bible to say that anyone other than Yahshua ("Jesus") was without error.

Vindictive, the current pope, was in the Hitler youth. Pope John Pedophile protected child molestors. Impious XII backed the Nazis as they mass murdered jews. Many others have engaged in prostitution, wars, land theft, slavery, rape, greed and many other abominable acts.

The pope is as fallible as anyone else, he is only human, no one is perfect despite what the bible says.

Popes are not Jesus nor are they God in any way shape or form, only in ego and power-lust.
Pope is a political office.
To control the people.
Revolting.

Yes, every Pope is fallible. Every single one. Every Pope since St Peter is. I think the papacy has gotten better since the Renaissance and the Reformation, but that doesn't change the fact that Popes are human and they are fallible. Don't get me wrong, I love and respect the Pope - but he should earn and deserve that love and respect. The papacy was a mess during the Dark Ages and up till the beginning of the Reformation. At one point, and I believe it was Pope Alexander (not sure of the number) in the early 1500's had his mistress living in the papal palace, and even had parties with prostitutes in said palace. That fall nothing short of besmirching the holy seat of St Peter with filth.

Other popes were every individualistic and corrupt, caring only for themselves and not for the wellbeing of the faithful they were entrusted with. Few popes could truly be considered close to infallible and even those had at some point sinned.

Yes, a pope may be infallible, but many truly are the ordained Vicars of Christ and many do good, and bring honor and sanctity to the Holy See. But there is not a single human who can be considered infallible.

I don't believe "Peter" was a Pope. He was never Catholic.

Popes.... I think they should just go away. Popes were the ones who started the Crusades.

I see now, mackenzie, that the alleged infalliblility of the Pope is only in "a very limited set of circumstances." I should have checked the belief instead of relying on my memory of what I was taught in my history class in high school. But do you think that any Pope of the past who said people could be forgiven by him (contrary to Bible) did not err in saying that?

Why did Jesus say to forgive if we are not allowed to forgive each other?

You don't even know what papal infallibility is about, obviously.

I think that you have misunderstood the Roman Catholic doctrine of papal infallibility. The Church teaches that the pope is infallible only in a very limited set of circumstances. In order for the head of the Catholic Church to be infallible, two conditions have to be satisfied. First, the pope must be speaking about an issue concerning religious doctrine or ethics. The pope's views on world politics, culture, the arts, history and his thoughts on just about every other topic are just as subject to error as anyone else's beliefs.

The second requirement is that the pope speak ex catedra. This simply means that the pope must make a conscious decision to speak officially, as the Vicar of Christ. Normally, this would mean that the pope's statement would start something like this: "I, Benedict XVI, as the Vicar of Christ and the successor to Saint Peter, declare..."

Popes very rarely make infallible statements. Most of the time, when you hear them speak in Rome, or on trips, the popes do not claim any infallibility at all. John Paul II, one of the longest serving popes in history, never made an infallible statement, and nor has Pope Benedict XVI.
