Well thats true teaches should put away all electronics and including theirs |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Teacher s honestly have no real reason to have electronics at school. And if they do, then they
should be locked up until AFTER school is over...why do we get an argument but they can use their
electronics any time of the day! |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
I think that either the teachers should follow the same rules or they should have the rules changed. |
| |
|

I agree . Why is it that we cant have them but teachers can answer theirs during Class or have
theirs on ? |

I agree that teachers should have the same rule with electronic devices as the students do. Same
with dress codes. It is very unprofessional for a teacher to have a cell phone or an ipod out during
school hours. Students should be allowed to have their devices but to have them turned on during
school, unless they are granted to do so. But teachers should really do the same, if they expect to
be a good role model. |

I think that teachers should turn their cell phones off.I do know that teachers are the more
responsible party, but it is not fair that we half to turn off our cell phones and teachers don't |

Schools are the place where students come to get the education and to be getting disciplined as
well. Electronic devices like mobile phones, radios should always be kept away. And this rules and
regulation should be abide by the students and teachers both. If the electronic device carried by a
student can make the disturbance to study, it can be applicable to the teachers also. A single loud
ring tone can be enough to disturb the ambience of a school where the silence is much required.
Therefore teachers along with the students should be stated strictly not to carry the electronic
devices as school is not the right place for using these. If school teaches the discipline to the
students, it is also required from the teachers to maintain this. |
| |
|
| |
|

If the teacher has cell phones and devices etc. They will be breaking there own laws so they should
have the punishment just as we get it |
| |
|

|

Yes, there is the matter of an emergency, but I believe teachers should follow their own set rule. I
believe this because, the teacher is supposedly the role model of the class, and if he/she is not
setting an example of following set rules, than how can he/she expect for her/his students to follow
that particular rule. Now referring to the matter of emergency. There is also the option of the off
and on switch. In an emergency, teachers can just turn on their phone to use it. I agree to this
resolution. |
| |
|

I agree. Like other people have said, it wouldn't be setting a good example if teachers banned
children from using phones and then went on to use one themselves.
Rules that are set should also be followed by the person who set them, otherwise it is unfair.
Teachers ban children from using phones because it will interrupt the lesson and prevent children
from learning, but the same thing would happen if teachers were allowed to use phones, so the rules
must apply to everyone. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
A good teacher will always follow his/her own set rules. If a teacher prohibits students from using
a cell phone in the classroom, then turns around and uses one herself, then she is not setting a
good example of following the rules. Teachers should not be allowed to use cell phones in the
classroom. If a teacher wants to use a cell phone, then she should do it out of student’ sight. No
one has the right to interrupt a class for a telephone call, including the teacher. Therefore, I
agree. If a teacher prohibits her students from using a cell phone in the classroom, then she should
also refrain from using a cell phone. You cannot enforce rules, if you do not follow them yourself. |

The reason why cell phones and other electronic gadgets are not allowed in the classroom is because
they are distracting and adversely affect the learning process. Now if the teachers continue to use
these devices in class what lesson are they giving out to the students? The students are lead to
believe that just because teachers are in a position of authority they can do what they tell the
students not to do.
Cell phones are equally distracting for teachers in fact they maybe a little more distracting
because if the teacher will get busy with his/her cell phone the students will be left with nothing
to do while in the case of students using these devices only one or two of them will be losing out. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
A teacher is a hypocrite if she demands no cell phones in her classroom, then proceeds to user hers.
I agree. |

This statement presupposes some sort of equality of rights between teachers and students. Don't feel
bad this is a common mistake of teenagers. The fact is the teachers are allowed to do whatever they
think is appropriate while you, the student, have to do whatever you are told is appropriate. Way of
the world kid, and there is good reason for it. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
In all honesty, some teachers have a right to use electronics such as cell phones, etc. Some
teachers have kids in school, and if that teachers' kids need to be picked up, RIGHT AWAY, teachers
should be allowed to use their cell phones. |
| |
|

Teachers are adults. When children reach adulthood, they can be treated as adults too. |
| |
|

No, I believe that teachers need to have access to their cell phones for emergency causes unless
they abuse their freedom and slow the process of learning or distract their own students. Students,
I believe, also have the right to have access to their phones in case of emergency or contacts with
someone (such as colleges) that are in different time zones, but again they should not distract
their own learning or others' as well. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
The main problems with students in schools having electronic devices is distraction, and theft.
Unless the device is slowing the teachers progress in teaching their class, it should be allowed. |

I'm against this because teachers should get this opportunity to use electronics in school, because
they've been through school. |

I agree with Alex. I'm a high school student also and maybe the people posting on this website are
out of high school but nobody turns off their phones. Texting is a guaranteed occurrence in most
classrooms. If there is an emergency, you will either get a silent call, check your phone, and then
ask to go to the bathroom. (to listen to your voice mail) or you will read a text about it.
I think Alex's argument on if there is an intruder in the building is convincing. There are
definitely times where I would not want to be caught in a situation where the adult did not have a
cell phone when we needed one. However I do believe that maybe for argument's sake, in most
instances, the teacher should just be reached at her extension # classroom telephone. |

I'm a high school student, and I am still against it. Teachers need to be able to use their phones
in an emergency. Now, I'm not saying they can go and whip 'em out in the middle of class to answer a
call, but they need to at least have access to them in case of an emergency. They are the
responsible party. Besides - since I am a student and I see it every single day in school - no one
turns their phones off during the day, anyway. Most people just put them on vibrate and text each
other in class. You have no right to complain.
The reason students should not have electronic devices on is this: In the event of an emergency -
say an unidentified man with a gun comes onto the campus - the teacher, the responsible party,
must have control, and if all of the students took out their phones and all called someone
different, then complete and total chaos would ensue and it would put the students and the faculty
in even more danger. If the teacher could keep order amongst the students and have a structured plan
to get out of or avoid the danger, then things would go much more smoothly.
I am not against students POSSESSING electronic equipment, but I do not believe they should be
allowed to be on during the school day. If the kid needs a ride home after school, then that is
different. |

I'm against it because a teacher should have the right to use a cell phone in case of an emergency
to contact someone |
| |
|
| |
|

We believe that teachers are the responsible party in the classroom, therefore in emergency
situations a cell phone would be another way for the teacher to communicate with the administration
in situations where the intercom may become inoperable. |

I don't agree. |

No, teachers are an authority and should be respected. If they have a phone it shouldn't matter they
are an adult. Children need to respect that. |
