| Efforts To Be Greener And To Exploit And Develop Renewable Sources Of Energy Should Be Made Regardless Of Whether Global Warming Exists Or Not. |
| It seems to be the opinion of some that global warming is a hoax or is not caused by human activities, and as such gives us the green light to continue burning fossil fuels and waste copius amounts of energy. However, even if the statement has any truth, a conscious effort should be made to develop renewable sources of energy if not only to improve the living conditions in towns and cities. |

You see, global warming is just a hoax invented by tree hungers! Their just trying to trick us into
cleaning up our cities, improving air quality, preventing the spread of disease, making American
energy more independent and less likely to flux due to a war, and not destroying huge swaths of land
or spending millions of dollars just to get to coal and oil! Don't let them get away with it!
The typical argument against taking measures to prevent or slow down or reverse global warming. |

You're right of course. Even disregarding global warming completely, projections indicate that we
will more or less run out of oil within 30-40 years at current usage rates. The party's over and we
need to begin the process of adapting our societies now if we are to stand any chance of surviving
the coming contraction while maintaining our values and our way of life.
We have seen already how a slightly stronger demand for oil than could easily be accommodated has
led to a massive rise in its price, with follow-on effects on food and other commodity prices. This
has sparked food riots around the world and impacted living standards even in the wealthiest
countries. |

Certainly we should.
I am far from convinced by all the horror stories we hear about global warming and how it is all my
fault.
Regardless we should look after own home. We are making a horrible mess of this planet and it needs
to stop.
If we can find a productive renewable source for our energy that would be a great start. I think
the time will come and it will be dictated by basic economics. Fossil fuels are getting low, the
price is rising, the need for an alternative ebbs ever closer. Necessity is the mother of
invention.
Conserving energy also become more important as the price for gas, electric, and petrol goes ever
higher. At the end of the day people and business' are dictated to by economics. |
