Eating Meat Is Not Wrong.
Many vegetarians don't eat meat because they feel it is cruel to eat animals, but these animals are only around for us to eat. If no one ate meat we wouldn't need cows or chickens, pigs or sheep. They have no other use.if we didn't eat them they would go extinct.

It isnt wrong our ancestors were eating meat and we as a human race of people have been eating meat for years and they most of the time outlived us, its the moderation is key. Nobody said go eat the WHOLE pig but pork aint bad. Never has been never will be. Candy isnt bad you eat too much what happens. Almost any and everything is good in moderation.

As much as I don't like to admit it, it is not wrong to eat meat. God clearly allows it in His word-the Bible. However, He originally planned for all creation to be strictly herbivorous. It was only after Adam and Eve sinned that the concept of death and toiling for one's sustenance came to be. As a result , man who was doomed to death starting killing animals for food and clothing. Before long the first human killing took place ,too, when Cain killed his brother Able because he was angry that God liked Able's offering better than his own. Originally, there was no death of man or animal and no eating of animals. While I'm wandering off topic, let me say that God's treatment of the first murderer, Cain, was not to take his life as punishment. In fact His word specifically says He told Cain he would not be killed as punishment for his sin. This I think is the model we are to be using and not capital punishment. But I digress, I mean reallyyyyyyyyy.

We are omnivorous animals. Humans eat meat. It is natural. I don't think this one needs any more comment.

Humans evolved to be omnivores, our systems are set up to digest meat proteins and we require them to be healthy. The idea that we should ignore biology for some absurd moral stance is lunacy.

The sad part is just how ashamed these vegetarians are of being part of a successful species. We are the top of the food chain, we are superior, in that way, to all other species on the planet. Why are you all so afraid to be superior?

Well the emeat we eat is already dead, so what would be the point of not eating it? Surely that would make the animals useless?
It is part of the human diet to eat meat anyway, it gives us protein.
Most animals eat other animals in order to survive, we are just top of the food chain.

First, I completely disagree with mordsith's supporting rationale that some animals only exist for us to eat and they would go extinct without us. We are not the sole link in the food chain, sheep and goats have other predators too, and their grazing and droppings do serve roles in nature.

BUT, with that said, I ABSOLUTELY AGREE that eating meat is not wrong. We are animals. Biologically and historically we are omnivorous and our meat eating is a big part of our diet and largely responsible for the growth of our brain mass. No animal should have to apologize for doing what nature leads it to do. Would you scold a lion for eating a lamb instead of a carrot?

There is nothing wrong with eating meat. Now, is it wrong to torture an animal before eating it? - sure, might as well kill them humanely. Is it wrong to waste much of their bodies? - sure, use as much as possible. Is it wrong to kill endangered species for the sake of food? - yes, let's preserve diversity. But after saying all that - is it wrong to raise domesticated farm animals for slaughter for food? - absolutely not.

I don't see why. Animals eat other animals to survive. We are animals so we are no different to any other meat eating animal.

You say humans are animals, implying that we are part of nature. Then, we split ourselves from nature, how can we be both? We are actually different t to other meat eating animals - we are omnivores, not carnivores.

I agree with finsch. Eating meat isn't wrong in itself, but some of the treatment received by the animals and the conditions they are kept in prior to slaughter can be very wrong indeed.

I certainly don’t have a problem with eating meat but I do feel we take it too far. I grew up a small farm and each animal we kept was extremely valuable to us. If and when we killed and ate livestock it was after they had lived a life of health and comfort.
But now we’ve got this society of people who have never sullied their hands with even killing and prepping a chicken, who would probably go to pieces watching somebody kill a chicken, who feel they have to eat half a pound of meat with every meal. Consequently we have these bizarre factories where huge numbers of these genetic monstrosities live in a small box just long enough to slaughter.

Some can argue that it would be better for the animals if they never existed...

But I totally agree with you.

It's easy for you to have that outlook when you're at the top of the food chain. You would be whistling a different tune if it was you on someone else's menu.

You can't say things like that. They are animals, we are no more superior than they, and we both have an equal right to be here. They suffer when we slaugher them.

If they have an equal right then why isn't Animal Cruelty treated as murder (if the animal dies)?
