United States Should Drill For Oil
Should the United States drill for oil in the Alaskan national reserve?

1. Anwr is of no use to anyone. Drilling for oil will not hurt the environment. 2. When is the last time you saw a major disaster at an oil rig. 3. Alternative energy is a laugh. Someone will find fault no matter what the energy is. 4. There is enough oil in this country to last centuries. We will all be gone by then, if their is a world as we know it left.

As fast as we can. Does anyone know how much oil was drilled in Texas. In Oklahoma? Does anyone know how it ruined Texas and Oklahoma? Does anyone know how many natural gas drills are eating into the earth in the Dallas/FT. Worth metroplex amongst all the humans?

Apparently not. This entire argument is so freaking stupid it is beyond comprehension.

Absolutely, there are huge reserves there that would have minimal, if any impact on the majority of the state. It's simple ecological ignorance that says not to drill, either there or offshore.

We need the oil a hell of a lot more than we need millions of empty acres of nature.

I honestly don't believe we should drill for oil there. I know the reserve is baren and ugly, but it will do no good to destroy it. It will have SHORT, TEMPORARY advantages, but it won't help the current oil crisis. We will still be dependant on oil, and we will still deplete it sooner or later.

Drilling for oil in Alaska is just stalling. We need to find alternative fuel sources and use them faster, not screw around and watch as we go through a resource that we don't really need to use.

I don't think so, because the damage caused will be irreversible and it's a state that has a large tourist industry.

 Snipex- Buddy, this reserve in in a place noone ever goes. It is not as portrayed in the idyllic pictures released by the environmentalist. Mostly bare tundra. They are only talking about 2,000 acres being used. Not much for a state so big.
