Whether it's for medical purposes or for cosmetics, animal testing is unnecessary.
Animals and Humans do not get the same diseases.
Drugs that have been tested on animals and said to be okay have caused birth defects and other
problems with humans.
Ex: Thalidomide
Different things have different affects on different animals. How do we know which ones will work on
us? You can not say just use one animal that is the most like us because they all have reacted bad
to things that we react well to and vice versa.
Ex:
Arsenic is not poisonous to rats, mice, or sheep.
PCP is a sedative for chimps
Morphine is a stimulate for cats, goats, and horses but a sedative for humans.
Digitalis can kill dogs, but helps save humans.
Penicillin is poisonous to Guinea Pigs
many vaccinations founded by animal testing may be the cause of many medical problems.
We have enough data and alternatives that testing cosmetics on animals has almost become
obsolete.
What if we decided that testing on a tribe of humans far away was okay and that became acceptable in
our society? Would you agree with it Just because the pharmaceutical industries and institutes 'say'
the research saves lives and it's effective?
Or would you then be turning towards our many more inexpensive and more effective alternatives? |

I've heard that there are computer programs that can calculate the chemicals in a human and the
chemicals in the products they are testing and calculate the outcome. It is meant to be 80% accurate
which is A LOT higher than the accuracy of animal testing. Although apparently this system is very
expensive but surely it is worth the lives of thousands of animals. |

Animal and human nervous, digestive, reproductive, circulatory and skelatul systems
all work very similar so animal testing is a good thing or would you prefer using men, women and
children instead |
