Parents Should Be Allowed To Chose The Sex Of Their Child

I agree with much of what you said. Your first sentence, in reference to the Holocaust and a "master race" is a frightening thought. As a parent, I feel blessed to have my two daughters and during pregnancy, although in the first one hoped for a girl, the only thing that was of concern to me really was that they were healthy. Since my first was a girl, I honestly did not have any preference over sex in the second pregnancy. Still, in the first pregnancy, although I hoped for a girl, it would have made no difference in my love for my child regardless of sex. I do think there are people who care deeply what sex their child is. I don't think that, given the fact that insurances will not pay so people can choose gender, it would become such a trend that it would carry the consequences that most foresee when arguing this debate. I could be wrong on that because that is only my opinion and I have done no research into the cost of anything like this, not to mention if it carries any risk to the mother or child. I just believe that most people in the US (because that's were I live) wouldn't go that far to have a child of a certain sex. Then again, who knows? People surprise me all of the time.
