I think diamonds are always nice. You can get good ones inexpensively at some stores, like Kohl’s
or Wal-Mart, and they are not junky looking. I gave a pair of nice diamond earrings in 14 K gold to
a girlfriend and she has worn them every day since. I got them from Kohl’s and they were only
$50.00. You don’t have to go broke to give diamonds.
On the other hand, “diamonds being a girl’s best friend” means something else. That phrase
comes from a movie of the same name where a diamond meant an engagement ring—meaning every girl
wants to get married. No, every girl does not want to marry. But we still like wearing diamonds! |

I definetly agree with this statement. Diamonds are a girls best friend. It doesn't matter what kind
of mood your in, if presented with one from your loved one, immediately a woman feels like she is
walking on air. They are the most brilliant and uniquely designed gem and the bigger, the better. |

Yeah but no yeah regardless of what women say in their highest cerebal moments when it comes to it a
diamond wins every time.
Realistically who wouldn't like a present of a precious gem, especially if it is presented in a
romantic way.. |

Diamond and girls are highly interlinked with each other. Though all girls prefer wearing jewelry
but diamonds have always been the best choice for them. Given choice a diamond with something much
more precious to any girl, undoubtedly she will give her decision in favor of the diamonds. If
gifted a diamond to a girl on any occasion like her birthday, marriage or anniversary then they
become the happiest woman on earth. We know that diamond is a very costly substance and it is also
the hardest natural substance on earth. Diamond gives immense pleasure to a girl because a diamond
makes a girl prettier. Even girls often turn out to be possessive about their diamonds. Thus we can
definitely say that diamond is girls' best friend. |

As opposed to 'Spartan 76', I would say that diamonds are a girl's best friend. In addition to the
fact that they are extremely attractive and valuable, they also have many functions. Diamonds are
not only available to utilize as a piece of jewellery or a house ornament, but they may also be used
for cutting anything in necessary and important cases.
Furthermore, diamonds annually become more expensive. This means that in approximately 10 years, the
diamond would be worth a lot more and may become a 'vintage' piece in the years to come. How many
uses can this one so-called useless diamond give you?
A well known example is Her Majesty's crown jewels, which are one of the most valuable items of
jewellery in the world. What do the majority of these wonderful items contain? Diamonds.
In conclusion, diamonds are by many means a girl's best friend. There are many functions, whether
deciding to keep or sell.By giving a diamond to a loved one, you are showing them just how valuable
and ever-increasing love is.
Thank you. |

Yes, I agree that diamond is the best friend of a girl and there is no harm to give present of
diamond to a girl. In fact the girl will jump with joy after finding diamond as her gift. Girls are
fond of sparkling dresses and jewelry and diamonds is the most attractable of all the stones.
Diamond is forever and so you relationship with your beloved. |

Yes, I think that is 100% right. Diamonds are a girls best friend because of the following
reasons:
1. Girls are fond of jewellery and they love to wear it.
2. Diamonds are considered as the Queen of all stones, so every girl dreams of it.
3. When a girl receives a diamond as a gift, especially from someone they love, it makes her a lot
happier. |

I like diamonds they are pretty but they are not my best friend my best friend is ______ _______
Ok i was taking that literally the real thing is:
I like them but if i got them i could wear them and that's it. It is not really fun putting a
diamond necklace on or maybe it is the first time when you are so excited and it is nice thinking
that someone gave it to you but it is not actually fun and you cannot have a BFF that is boring
right? (taking literally but giving example) So stuff that never get boring and is pretty (in my
opinion) is a girls best friend.
(also when i sad stuff that never get boring and is pretty is a girls best friend i really don't
mean humans i mean objects just for those that take things seriously) |

Don't like diamonds that much. Strangely enough they make me feel cheap, now that everyones jumped
on the band wagon for "bling". You can never tell whats real and whats not unless your a jeweller,
so why bother?
As for a gift, anything given in love is worth much more than money can buy. |

When a man gives the woman he loves an unexpected gift at an unexpected time, it does not require
Diamondhood to be meaningful to her.
When you know he has had you in mind the whole time, and just wanted to do a little something to
express his feelings for you in some way, like giving you a esoteric love token, diamonds are not
required, sincerity and warmth are.
And if you are really in love with the guy, ANYTHING sweet he does for you is the best ever. You
treasure anything from him if you have a real feeling for him. It is the feeling that counts. |

Diamonds are a women's best friend.
And a dog is a mans best friend...
Who's smarter?
Here is the solution to this age old addage.
Stick your wife and dog in the trunk of your car for about.. Per say... An hour.
Come back that hour later...
I ask you, who's happy to see you? |

Not a big lover of gifts unless I'm the one giving them. And I don't like diamonds so... A diamond

This is not true because there are lots of girls out there that don't want diamonds they rather have
dog than a diamond. Some women don't want anything from a man!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Personally, I don't think any jewelry is a girls best friend. Most women and girls go crazy over
hair products, clothes, and maybe perfume. |

Diamonds are DEFINITELY not the best gift. I mean, it's not a totally bad one, but I would rather
have the money that paid for the diamond than the diamond itself. I don't wear jewelry that much
anyway. I guess it just depends on the person...but who wants diamonds when you can have an extra
$250? And if I was the guy buying the gift, I definitely wouldn't buy the diamonds. I'm cheap and
they're just too expensive. |

I personally don't like diamonds. I would prefer a gift that has meaning to it. |

I myself do love diamonds and would not be disappointed if my boyfriend were to bring one home for
me, but have you ever watched a movie by the name of "Blood Diamond"? If not, please do. Its based
on a true story. Also keep in mind, The reason a diamond keeps its value is because a company keeps
them locked into underground vaults so they can keep the value sky high. |

No. Self-Esteem is. |

My wife seems to think that her "Toy" is her best friend. There is not much a diamond can do to
satisfy a woman. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
It is my honest opinion that this is nothing more then a cliche stereotype. But I also don't believe
that the more expensive the gift the better it is, personally I would prefer something that means a
little bit more even if its just a stuffed animal or a hand made card. Aside from that I think
Spartan76 was pretty much on the right track. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
It's a cliche, and can be found used almost exclusively by greedy women and jewelry stores. There is
only a very limited number of occasions when diamonds are the "best idea" as a gift -- which is
good, otherwise you'd be broke quick. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Yeah, but no because guys are my best friend you know who cares whats on my finger if i don't have a
man to mach it. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
I'd rather have something that cost less but was from the heart.
A guy who gives a diamond is probably just trying to get out of finding something to get her. It
shows that he doesn't really know her, so just follows the stereotype for women.
I would much rather have someone make me something to show that he really knows me. |
| |
|

Although I would agree that many women love diamonds, I disagree that diamonds are the main thing
she wants for a gift. They do make nice gifts, however, as a woman; I would rather have something
more practical such as a computer, a car, or other electronics. I want gifts that will help my mind
grow. I do like diamonds, but I think I would like to receive a new computer rather than a diamond.
Girls like many things nowadays. So, I would disagree that a diamond is a girl’s best friend
today. |

I think diamonds are the best friend of the GUY who gives them to a girl. ;-) |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Nope, women really what something that is meaningful. If there's a connection that a woman has with
diamonds or something then yah ok but I think that if you show her you care then what it is that you
get her doesn't matter (unless shes one of those rich girly types like Paris Hilton). Showing you
care is what really matters so go do that instead of spending a bunch of money on something that
means nothing. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Well i can go both ways!! But the girl should not need a diamond to make them happy! They should be
happy with the person they are with! But also the man could buy her a diamond for the heck of it
also!! So this is just irrelevant.. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|

Yes, diamonds have many functions e.g. They are used in industrial drill tips to cut through things
and they are rare, expensive, pretty etc etc, but I know I would prefer a smaller, less expensive
gift that someone has put a lot of thought into or that someone has made for me because they have
then thought about it a lot and they have gone to the trouble of finding me the perfect gift. I am a
girl and if I ever get engaged, a diamond ring would be fabulous, but I wouldn't want to have lots
of diamonds - what would be the point? What would I do with them apart from selling them for a lot
of money? I agree that money would be better spent on helping out an animal or human that has
nothing than blowing a lot of cash on a diamond. |
| |
|
| |
|

Diamonds, in reality, are close to worthless. Their supposed preciousness is maintained by
artificial constraints on their market availability. For years the De Beers diamond cartel would buy
up all the supplies of diamonds it could find and simply hoard them in order to prevent a flood of
diamonds coming onto the market, driving the prices down.
The fact is that diamonds can be manufactured. That's right. There is an industrial process,
developed in Russia, I believe, to artificially create diamonds. Therefore they are not precious at
all. Even a professional gem appraiser cannot tell the difference between a created diamond and one
extracted from the ground.
If I was buying a gift for someone I care about, a diamond would be the last thing I would buy. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Much as I would love someone to give me the gift of a diamond I don't agree that they are a girls
best friend although they probably come close to it.
I don't think diamonds can replace real friendship. After all the value of a diamond is man made-
it's really only a rather pretty piece of nature and it could be argued that by extracting diamonds
we are helping to destroy the environment and exploit cheap labour abroad.
The only people to really benefit from diamonds are the manufacturers of jewellery who charge
extortionate amounts to those who buy them.
Far better to have a real friend who cares about you , shares good and bad times and is a true best
friend.
Now if you can have a diamond or two and a best friend that's an extra bonus. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |

As much as I love jewellery, diamonds are not my best friend. I would much rather receive a gift
that I could use, rather than an extremely expensive diamond that I could end up losing!
Diamonds are lovely and although it would be a nice surprise to receive them as a gift, I would much
rather be satisfied with something useful. Simple gifts mean much more to me than expensive
diamonds. |

I can think of a hundred better gifts than a tiny expensive piece of rock. Yeah, they are pretty,
yeah they sparkle, but they are entirely functionless. Like so many things in life these days, they
are all form and no content. What does that say to and about the girls and women that we give them
to?
I love you darling, you're all form and nothing inside. Do women like them, of course, they love
shiny things, it's something they have in common with fish. However, is it the best gift? I don't
think so. They are beautiful, of that, there is no doubt, but wouldn't it be nice to give her
something that she can use, not just something that reminds her of the superficial side of life?
I personally believe that diamonds are precious, but they really have no point to them. Little
shiny rocks, they would have no value at all if people didn't worship them. People would pay out
millions for a rare diamond, the same people would not give a penny to help a rare animal to
survive.
No, they aren't a girl's best friend, I rather think a best friend is a girl's best friend. They do
make a nice wee gift though. If that's what you're into. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |

No, it is not a true statement because there are many girls who also like gold jewellery and other
ornaments, especially antiques.
Diamonds only work in some cases. So, diamonds are not a good gift in all cases.
Some girls are crazy about new dresses, some like to have bangles, etc. So it's not the right thing
to say that diamonds are a girl's best friend. |
