David Letterman Was Smart To Come Out Publicly On This Show And Admit To Affairs With His Staff Rather Than Give In To A Blackmailer And/or Wait For The Truth To Trickle Out
Not only did it deflate the hand of the blackmailer and scandal but it actually got some laughs, sympathy, and I'm sure will impact ratings too. The only questions remaining to me are 1) what will happen to the blackmailer now caught?, and 2) Will any of the women on his staff whom he admittedly had affairs with file lawsuits over sexual harrassment / hostile work environment? He's a sitting duck, he admitted he did it. I bet probably it was consensual and they just leave him alone now.

I think it was a smart move on Letterman's behalf in terms of ensuring there's no leak anywhere else but I wonder if fans of his show will view him differently now and possibly not tune in to listen what he has to say now; like this whole thing was a shot to the credibility perhaps.

 I doubt that. He's just a talk show host for chrissake, it's not like he's a Senator or Evangelist. Why does it matter if he's a human male? Some people would find him even more interesting now. Maybe he can do a top 10 list on how to score women.
