It's not stupid. It can actually be quite effective. |

I also agree with Specter. To use someone for any reason is immoral. People do not think of
other's feelings at times and I realize that there are times that we are all a little less than
selfless, but to purposely use someone to get another person interested is a terrible thing to do.
I can't even make it work in my mind if they told the other person upfront. Even then, what would
that say to the other person. I tried to think of a situation where it would be even not considered
cruel, but, all in all, I would have to say that anyone engaging in such behavior is a selfish jerk. |

I agree with Spector87. It isn't stupid; it is pathetic. A guy in my church singles group asked me
out on a date. He had been dating another girl in the singles group who would not go out with him
again. Our date was dismal. He just stared at his food. I knew then he had taken me out to make
this other gal jealous. I never told this girl about my date with him. Finally, the guy who took
me out asked me, "Well, what did she say when you told her we'd been out together?" I said to him,
"I never told her. I don't tell people my personal business." He just said, "Oh." I knew he felt
he had wasted his time with our "date", connived just to get a reaction from this other gal. |

I agree with Spector87. It isn't stupid to date someone else to get back at another person. It hurts
feelings and brings about the feeling of jealousy, but this isn't stupid. |

Male or female? When shown pictures of a woman hanging out with men, guys rated the woman as less
attractive than if she were alone or with women. When shown pictures of a man hanging out with
women, the female subjects rated him as more attractive than when he was alone or with men.
I would guess that a woman would want to win a guy back if he started dating another woman, but that
a guy would just be turned off. |

I'd prefer to call it immoral rather than stupid because it works. |
