Yes, you're completely correct. Baseball is the same as rounders isn't it? Kids play that here.
Cricket is all about strategy, it takes intelligence. |

Although I disagree it's not with any disrespect intended toward cricket. I'll acknowledge it's
age, scope, and tradition. I just don't think any of your arguments actually prove it "better" than
baseball. 1) Age - there are sports older than cricket, like the Olympic track and field events,
does that automatically make them better than cricket? 2) There are sports more global than
cricket. Running and swimming are more universal, and frankly I'd bet billiards and darts are more
widespread too for example. 3) The size and scope of the championship has little relevance.
Baseball's "World" Series is a campy macho US thing, but no one in the US REALLY believes the winner
is the best in the whole world. And how much different is that from the Sumo contest staying
limited to Japan soil or the Thai Kickboxing champ stayling limited to Thailand.
Anyway, I respect cricket, I respect baseball, I don't see either as "better" than the other, nor do
I see any of the criteria put forth to be a good standard for determining "better". |
