Credit Cards Are A Bad Idea
Credit card debt increases and increases, with very high interest rates (despite introductory offers), it is the most expensive way to purchase anything on credit.

Credit cards aren't really bad themselves, but irresponsibility on the card's holder is a leading reason for America's extreme economic disaster. But the people wouldn't make those bad choices if the credit cards weren't here. So, I'm on this side. I mean, having a credit card to use when you need gas or something like that is okay, if you have the money to back it up. But using the card as a substitute for money is just plain stupid.

Credit cards are a good idea. They help people build credit. People need to learn how to spend healthy. Credit cards aren't the root of the problem.

I think credit cards are a good idea! Only responsible people should handle them tho.. If you can't control your credit card use then why even bother to get it in the first place, you are only putting yourself in debt and wit BAD credit. If you want to build a good credit history, use credit cards, or they are always good for emergencies as well... USE WISELY!!!

They get people in debt and people cant pay it. They shouldn't give cards to people who cant pay it back and people with money shouldn't need cards

Credit cards inly get people in trouble. They keep borrowing and borrowing. Paying the interest on credit cards alone should make anyone cut them up. What happened to the good old way of saving enough money to pay cash. It is a lot cheaper to do things this way. Yes, it takes longer to get what you want but makes a lot more sense. Marketing credit cards to students who have no money is where it starts and it usually increases from there. People grow to depend on their credit crds for everything. People should not be spending outside their comfort zone, meaning what they make from their paychecks.

Credit card debt is a significant problem in both North America and Europe. According to the New York Times, Americans owed $937.5 billion to credit card companies in November 2007.

With interest rates often at around 19%, many people with credit card debt simply struggle to pay the minimum amount on each statement. By doing this, they are servicing the interest charged, but are not paying down the actual balance.

Credit card companies, such as MasterCard, also actively market their products on university campuses by offering gifts with each registration. At Ohio State University, Citibank went as far as to offer students a free lunch, if they agreed to fill in an application for a credit card. These companies seem eager to convince students as young as 18 to sign up for a card, even though these prospective customers are not likely to have a steady, stable income.

Credit cards are extremely helpful when used correctly. I like using them a whole lot better than cash - especially when making large payments at one time.

I mean, it would be really easy to fall into the trap of charging up a bunch of stuff and never paying it off...but if you keep track of your every purchase and pay it off in time, then they really aren't bad.

Irresponsible people are a bad idea. They really create so much difficulty for society and for themselves, and usually society has to bail them out.

There is good debt and there is bad debt, and credit card debt is bad debt.

Using them and paying them off is a responsible thing to do. They are a tool.

Credit cards aren't a bad idea, people shucking their bills and responsibilities are
a bad idea. Near the beginning of trade in this world your word was your bond, lo and behold: The age of laziness is upon us!

Credit cards, just like handguns, are dangerous but useful. If you are not smart enough to use it properly, don't ask for those plastic things !
But if you use your credit card wisely, and pay your monthly balance before due date, you're fine. Don't let it add up to $25,000 before doing something about it !

If credit cards are bad are you just suppose to walk around with your money stuffed in your pockets?
If you get your credit card stolen then you can at least shut it down or transfer your money to a different account.

Like the old saw says, “Guns don’t kill people, the person pulling the trigger does.” You can use this same argument with credit cards: The cards themselves are not evil, just people who use them irresponsibly.
Personally, I only use credit cards for automotive-repair emergencies, airline tickets, and ordering from catalogues or online. The idea of living beyond my means by using them to finance frivolous purchases is simply not part of my thinking.
But I realize that many people do not have my financial options, and that they may be forced by familial or housing pressures to use credit cards for purchases they cannot ultimately afford.
I see credit cards as a necessary evil, and to abolish them entirely as absurd. In our society, if you do not have a credit card, you do not exist -- just try renting a car or being admitted to ER without one.

It isn't credit cards that cause problems but irresponsible credit use. It's the people who run up their cards and only pay the minimum and never get out of debt that have problems, but those are the fault of the people, not the card.

Credit cards are not a bad idea unless you let them be. Yes! All your expenses and the way you manage them is in your own hands and credit cards were introduced to help you cope better during period of financial crunch.

Credit cards are a short time debt that can help in several ways for example if you are waiting for your pay and have to make an emergency purchase your credit card will let you take care of that. People who are not good with cash management carry credit cards instead of cash. Hence, a credit card will only become a burden when you start defaulting on your credit card bills or if you forget what a credit card was designed to do.

It will be very much suitable to describe Credit Card as a “Necessary Evil”. Though it is very much popular and necessary as well, on the other hand it can be named as “Evil”. But this depends on anyone’s inner restriction power to their temptation. This credit card is not at all evil to those who can take the control to their temptation. With the help of this card anyone can purchase or quench his / her thirst of anything which is beyond the budget. This card gives assurance to the monetary expectation to anyone anytime. One can be sure of that he or she has a true friend in the wallet even if he or she has not a single penny in his bank account. This is the most welcome feature for having the credit card.

Credit cards used responsibly are not a bad idea. It costs you nothing at all to use a credit card to buy something as long as you repay the full balance before the due date. If you have not fully repaid it, then they add interest on the amount that you have borrowed.

Using your credit card for work can be useful, when they require you to submit expenses. The only problem is that some people do not know how to manage their money well and when they are repaid by their company, they fail to put that money to their credit card account.

At the end of the day, it's a matter of personal responsibility. If you can't be responsible with your finances then perhaps you should not get a credit card.

Personally, they are useful for large purchases when they include delivery insurance or other kinds of insurance. It's nice to be able to buy something before I get paid and then repay it quickly and easily over the Internet via Internet with the minimum fuss necessary.

Credit cards are not a bad idea, they are just poorly used by many people. Now, I am aware that the credit card companies use this fact to make money, but they are only available to adults and as adults, they should have the right to decide whether they want or need a credit card or not.

Certainly credit cards can be useful for transferring an outstanding balance between card companies, this can kill interest on an outstanding balance for up to a year or even longer in some cases.

Credit cards are a great way to increase your credit worthiness. If you pay on time, your credit file looks good. However, that is a tricky thing. The obvious way to deal with that is to set up a direct debit or a standing order.

The credit industry is under a more watchful eye now from the Office of Fair Trading, with the most recent edition of the Consumer Credit Act. It has made the credit industry more responsible for their actions and if someone can prove that they have behaved badly or inappropriately, the results for the credit company can be disastrous. They can even have their consumer credit license suspended!
