Do what you individually believe is right. |

Nah, they weren't cowards. They just didn't see any point in fighting, which is good. I wouldn't
call them brave, but certainly not cowards. They're alive, aren't they? Without pacifists this
world could be chaos.
But the soldiers of those wars weren't cowards either. To see that much blood and killing takes a
bit of toughness. Some even went crazy. You gotta do what you gotta do, which is what you think is
right. |

You got that stuff right.
A Conscientious-Objector stands by his Best-Integrity.
I agree whole-heartedly. |

One soldier from the first world war wrote about conscientious objectors. He said that it takes true
courage to go against the grain and stand up for something you believe in. Conscientious objectors
were generally despised and viewed as unpatriotic, women would give them a white rose to indicate
that they viewed them as cowards. And yet these few people somehow found the courage to stick to
their convictions |

You certainly can be a "conscientious objector" without being a coward. Absolutely. But of course
the two things are not mutually exclusive. It is still possible to be both a "conscientious
objector" as well as a "coward".
Personally, I believe the majority are NOT cowards, they have good reasons to object; frankly
they're probably pretty smart to not go. |

I agree. Not wanting to engage in warfare for reasons that really aren't very good isn't cowardly at
all. And you make a good point that they had to stand up against the public; it would have been
easier and more cowardly to cave in and agree with everyone else. |

Abuse implies that the person/people don't deserve it. Anyone who wants the freedoms they enjoy here
but spits in the faces of the men and women wo put their lives on the line to protect them doesn't
deserve the luxury of living here. That goes doubnle for people like Ehren Watada who wait until
they sign up for the military to all of the sudden decide to believe that war is evil. |

They were all cowards. They only used the "conscientious objectors" argument to save their own
behinds. |
