Claiming That "animals Do It" Is Not A Justifiable Excuse For Human Behavior.
We as humans seem to consider ourselves superior to animals. Therefore, claiming that it is only natural to behave a certain way because animals do is an unjustifiable excuse.

Totally agree. If "....but but but animals do it!" is an acceptible defense for behavior then that covers pretty much every vile act under the sun.

That is true and anyone on the against side has some problems if they are blaming things on animals

No one is blaming anything on animals, uve got that wrong. Animals do it is a viable explanation of Human behavior, all human races have territory, guess what so do animals, all humans sleep, so do animals, the list goes on. animals do it is an appropriate response to the question: Why do we do......? because most of what we do is instinctual.

Not sure what you're getting at, but if my dog eats a diseased rabbit on a frosty morning, I certainly wouldn't use that as justification for doing it myself.

Tinseldove has me convinced. We cannot on one side, say that we are of a higher class and intelligence, then turn around and use animal behavior to justify an action that is 'primal' or whatever.

In a secular mindset, we are animals too.

This is very true. When people use animal behavior to justify something, it is interesting that they pick and choose which behavior to emulate and which to overlook. You cant have one without the......other. Almost all animals sniff other animals feces and urine. Oh, 'scuse me--this is one people generally overlook, though it is the most universal.

Justifiable to what? To whom? It's all irrelevant. We are animals, and we do have instincts to do terrible things. It is a justification in the sense that there are no laws or principals dictated by life and nature. But we cannot justify our behavior when we look at our own human laws and norms.... Because we have the power to decide and choose what instincts we will and need to act on (mostly).

Behavior? There is no comparison. Humans cannot begin to live up to animal behaviour.

Would someone like to compare sniffing each others anuses and killing on instict to the mass slaughter of men, women and children for the purposes of getting a point across?

Yeah it is, we are animals. Albeit more advanced, but we are still animals.
