Yeah. I wouldn't say boredom, but that makes sense, too.
It does give something to follow up to every year.
It's a tradition pretty much.
And for the presents, I guess that's another holiday for an excuse to get that x-Box you have been
waiting for, :)! |

Although I get your point I just don't think it's as simple as coping with winter. There are
religious and cultural origins, and there is also a pretty long stretch of winter after Christmas
which doesn't have much in terms of celebration, so if we do it mainly to spice up winter you'd
think we'd have dreamt up another fun holiday part way through the rest of winter.
I genuinely like these holidays, I like presents, and yeah it helps make winter bearable. I just
don't think that's the main reason we do it. |
