I agree. If we are drinking chemicals then that can't do good for us in anyway! |

Au contraire - it's saved many lives, and millions of American kids can say "Look, Mom! No
cavities!" (Boy, does that age me, or what?) |

In high school debate we had a water quality topic and fluoridation of water occasionally came up as
a subtopic. That was long ago but I remember we had lots of literature on both sides of the topic.
The prime anti-fluoride quotes all came from one guy who argued the fluoride in higher
concentrations could be used as a poison. But against that there was a long list of other experts
who not only slammed his credibility but had countless studies of safety with fluoride at the
drinking water levels. Sorry I can't remember the names.
Granted maybe some research changed between now and then. But in my gut I'm believing this is a
repeat of the same issues from back then and the flouride isn't really a problem.
Oh, and the chloramine problem I believe had to do with interactions of chemicals with decaying
leaves in reservoirs and pipes. It's actually more an issue of filtering out those botanicals from
water supplies than an issue of added chemicals. |
