Children Should Go To Their Local School.
I know parents who travel many miles to get their children to the school they want. I know parents who as non believers go to church for months to get their children into their chosen school. This is all wrong.

Logistically, they certainly should. The local tax base supports the local schools, therefore the local children should use the schools that their parent's tax dollars pay for.

If you're talking about private schools, that's another matter because the parents are paying specifically for that school and therefore, they can send their kids wherever they want.

My child was let down by his "local school". He has asperger's syndrome and his teachers were not following his iep, even when litigation was involved. I found a fabulous school that specializes in aspreger's and now he is farther ahead academically then his friends in the same grade at the "local school". Some are great some aren't.

Not unnecessarily! My mom works at a school 15 minutes away and I don't like my school much. I wish that I could go there because my mom goes there everyday anyway, and if I could go too, that would be good.
