| Certain Races Have Certain Strong Abilities |
| Not to be biased, but different races have different things they're good at. Like, Asians are generally good at math, whites are good at writing/reading, and African Americans (blacks) are good at running. |

This debate topic merely enforces stereotypes. |

Hypothetically, even if there were a grain of truth to your claim, nothing good comes from linking a
particular ethnic group to a particular trait. There are infinite varieties of people in every
ethnic group. Any stereotype can be hurtful even if it's intended as a compliment. If for example
Asians are considered good at math and then you have an Asian who really stinks at it but his
friends all asume he must be good at it, then that can be very demoralizing for the person who was
stereotyped.
My other thought, thinking back to "Chef" on South Park, is "Kids, I wouldn't touch that with a ten
foot pole". |

A “certain strong ability”, depending on what you define that as, probably has nothing to do
with race at all. If a particular race exhibited a “certain strong ability”, than EVERY member
of that race itself would have to exhibit that same “strong ability” for this argument to be
valid. If even one person did not possess that “certain strong ability” that is attributed to
that entire race, then the whole concept of this idea fails. If there is at least one "asian" person
who isn't good at mathematics, this argument fails. If there is at least one "white" person that
isn't talented in reading/writing, this argument fails. If there is at least one "black" person who
isn't exceptional at running, this argument fails. A “certain strong ability” has less, if
anything, to do with race and more to do with genetics most likely. |

I am Caucasian, not "white", and I do like to read and write. Oh and I hate math and I run slow.
Man you must be on to something here! Oh wait, my black friend runs slow too AND he likes to read
and write...darn...I thought you had it in the bag. |

It may appear this way sometimes, product of media, but what you said is entirely wrong. |

Maybe somewhat as a general statement, but there are so many exceptions, why bother to say it at
all?
Some whites are good at everything except math.
Some blacks are very intelligent. |
