Cell Phone Signal Blocking Should Be Legal If Posted
The technology exists to block cell phone signals from penetrating a protected building. Some other countries already use this tech but the US still bans it. I think it should be legal provided the building you are entering has a posting at the major doors warning you won't get a signal. There are many instances when cell phones should be quiet - theatres, museums, church, some schools, or special events. Some argue a doctor may need a message but I'd say then the doctor shouldn't be at a movie while on call. Post and a block is OK

If the owner of the building wants to block cell signals inside it, then they should go ahead.

It's not like doctors never use parking garages, where they couldn't get a signal anyway.

I think they should be blocked in certain buildings i.e. The Library.

I think if you make the decision to have cell phone calls blocked at your business that you should be prepared to have a steep decline in business. It is the individuals choice whether they have their cell phones on or off. It makes no difference. Most people do remember to put them on vibrate before they go into such buildings as you mentioned anyways. I don't see the big deal. Even if they forget and the phone does ring, they more than likely grab it and turn it off quickly.

 So if you're on an operating table and the doctor is trying to do the most delicate of brain surgeries to save your life then you don't mind if an assistant or bystanders' cell phones go off blasting loud rock or rap and making the doctor jump half out of his pants.

Or if you're at the saddest most emotional funeral for the loss of your loved one it's OK if you hear "ta da da da - charge!"

Do you think operating rooms and funeral parlors will have a decrease in business because people are pissed off they can't discuss soap operas on the phone right at that time and moment?
