It depends on the school and the teachers. My 5th grader (who is in a private school) was getting 3
hours a night....I have 2 other school age kids.. All who needed my help... We couldn't even eat
dinner w/out a book at the table. I spoke w/ the principle and he now gets about 45 minutes.
Sometimes school officials will listen to reason; sometimes they won't. |

Of course the more you participate in, the less time you will have for homework and the more
stressful it will become to get it done. I know that balancing school, activities, family and work
can be an issue. The secret to getting everything done and not being stressed is time management.
You have to set a time for everything and stick to it. Occasionally things will interupt but you
will see a lot less stressful days if you set a time for all. |

Having kids who are slackers is stressing I know that much! My youngest are homeschooled so they
don't have to stress me out by forcing me to teach them what the teacher tried to teach them hours
earlier when they weren't listening. THAT would be stressful. I'm thinking that if a kid did not
want that kind of stress then there are a multitude of ways to nip it right in the bud!!! |
